The Workforce Development unit provides all APS employees with access to a full suite of corporate learning and development programs within the APS Professional Development (PD) Framework that builds and supports capacity across the APS.

The Consultant, Corporate Program Delivery, is a dynamic role for a skilled and passionate person with experience developing and delivering programming that directly links to building capacity in the knowledge, skills, competencies, and behaviours of APS employees. Focusing on electives and self-directed learning supports in the APS PD Framework, the Consultant, Corporate Program Delivery is responsible to:
- Partner with Program Designers to implement and deliver corporate learning supports and programs within the PD Framework using various in-person and virtual mediums.
- Manage programs and learning supports life cycle which includes analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation, and continuous improvement processes.
- Manage the administration, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of the APS Mentorship Program and seek to embed mentoring supports into new and existing learning programs.
- Coordinate the delivery and implementation of corporate learning supports, including scheduling, registration, communications for in-person and virtual delivery.
- Facilitate corporate learning opportunities where needed, and support with focus groups, stakeholder engagement sessions, etc.
- Provide coaching services, if qualified, to employees as part of APS leadership programming.
- Develop career development learning supports such as workshops and learning aids for the corporate audience and individualized programming.
- Administer mobility/work experience programming that involves, but is not limited to, building communications, liaising with stakeholders, and facilitating.
- Consult with department clients related to PD Framework learning supports as required. Provide consultation based on analysis of learning needs while supporting a one-government approach.
- Support the preparation of evidence-based written recommendations or briefings to leadership on APS learning strategy, supports and services, and the integration of workforce development with other talent management functions.
- Participate in task teams, advisory committees, working groups and/or focus groups to ensure consideration of workforce development needs. Ensure input and feedback are incorporated into various learning and development projects, programs, and initiatives.
- Stay current on emerging learning and development trends, diversity and inclusion, and best practices to recommend improvements/enhancements to current programming.
