The Early Childhood Educator Registry (Registry) is the legislated authority responsible for the certification of Early Childhood Educators (ECE) and ECE Assistants, the investigation of complaints regarding the competence and conduct of ECEs and ECE Assistants and the assessment and recommended approval of post
- secondary early childhood education programs in British Columbia (BC).

The Practice Consultant is responsible to develop, implement and evaluate operational policies/procedures; identify learning gaps to inform the development of staff orientation and training programs; and to provide evidence-based advice and direction to the ECE Registry Leadership regarding staff practice to ensure consistent, quality practice and adherence to administrative law principles.

Highly organized and results oriented, you are capable of meeting deadlines associated with multiple projects. You are a skilled communicator, able to work effectively with both internal and external partners.

**Job Requirements**:

- Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field such as Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Education, Social/Health Services, **AND** 2 years *related experience; **OR**:

- Certificate in Early Childhood Education or a related field such as Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Education, Social/Health Services, **AND** 3 years *related experience;** OR**:

- An equivalent combination of post secondary education and experience may be considered.
- Related experience must include the following:

- Developing, implementing and evaluating operational policies, procedures, and practice tools.
- Leading projects from conception to completion within a collaborative work environment.
- Facilitating training and/or workshops for adults.
- Working in a regulatory environment (e.g. professional regulation or compliance and enforcement) and/or experience as a licensee or manager of a licensed childcare facility.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

- A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field such as Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Education, Social/Health Services.
- Experience analyzing and evaluating program performance.
- Experience establishing collaborative relationships with all levels of staff, including senior management, and external stakeholders.
- Experience developing, implementing and evaluating staff orientation and training programs.
- Experience working in a licensed childcare facility and/or in the early care and learning sector. Experience in the development, review, and implementation of competency-based curriculum.**About this Position**:
There are two (2) temporary positions available until April 11, 2024. A permanent appointment may result from these temporary appointments. An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
