**Human Resources Recruiter**

**Location**: Provincial Head Office in Edmonton, AB.

**Position Status**: Full Time (40 hours per week), Permanent

**Key Responsibilities**

Specific duties include:

- Recruitment activities, including:

- Creating job postings, interview guides, and job descriptions.
- Posting job advertisements.
- Conducting pre-screens, interviews, and reference checks.
- Assist with onboarding, including preparing new hire packages and completing new hire documents & checklists.
- Create and complete recruitment files through the recruitment process.
- Create and maintain accurate, up-to-date, and complete personnel records.
- Draft memoranda, correspondence, and other employment documentation.
- Maintain Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) in compliance with applicable legislation and MNA policies and procedures.
- Stay abreast on compliance requirements and industry best practices as it relates to the recruitment process.
- Present a positive and professional image of the organization when interacting with employees, clients/customers, visitors, and other external stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Superior written and oral communication skills.
- Strong sense of ethics and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in all interactions.
- Political and cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexible and adaptable to work in a diverse and fast paced environment.
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple recruitment files.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of applicable employment legislation. Ability to read and interpret legislation.
- Knowledge of Métis history, culture, and issues affecting Métis people. An in-depth understanding of the MNA and Métis culture is an asset.

**Education and Experience**
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Some form of recruitment experience (e.g. volunteer) is not required, but would be an asset.
- One year of administration experience is an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of customer service experience is an asset.

**Other Requirements**
- Position will be based at the Métis Nation of Alberta’s Provincial Head Office in Edmonton, Alberta.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends for events.
- Ability to travel throughout AB, on occasion.
- Reliable transportation and valid Class 5 drivers’ license.
