**Position**

A postdoctoral researcher position is available in the Charlebois Research Group to work on a Human Frontier Science Program project on predicting microbial evolution. This project will involve investigating the effect of community size on the repeatability of antifungal resistance evolution in pathogenic yeast communities.

**Duties**
- Conduct high-quality experimental microbiology/mycology research in collaboration with theoretical/computational researchers.
- Characterize antifungal resistance across communities, ploidy, and drug concentrations.
- Perform drug-resistance evolution experiments across species diversity.
- Conduct phenotypic and genotypic profiling of evolved Candida strains.
- Quantify the composition of evolving Candida communities using pre-trained machine learning models and qPCR-based methods.
- Prepare manuscripts for publication in high-impact journals.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- PhD in the biological sciences or a related field.
- Demonstrated record of research productivity.
- Experience with pathogenic yeasts, in-vitro drug susceptibility testing, and standard microbiology techniques.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience working with _Candida_ yeasts.
- Familiarity with machine learning.
- Experience supervising undergraduate and graduate students.
