Grassroots & Community Coordinator

**Job Overview**
The Grassroots & Community Coordinator is a part-time position. This position assists the Director of Player Development with the day-to-day programs of the organization including our Grassroots Program (U4 - U9) and our Community Skills training. The position may include assisting with the Club Program with Technical and Skill sessions. The Grassroots & Community Coordinator will help guide, mentor and organize the Jr. Coach employees. During the busy season & tournaments, additional work hours are required.
**Responsibilities & Duties**
**Jr. Coaches**
- Set a work schedule for Jr. Coaches
- Attend and support coach education nights
- Manage Jr. Coaches and their session delivery
**Grassroots (U4 - U9)**
- Work with office employee to prepare parent & coach information packages
- Attend parent & coach meetings
- Develop, maintain & deliver the U4 Parent & Tot program, including set up/tear down, station transitions and Jr. Coach support
- Develop, maintain & deliver U5 - U9 Grassroots programming including set up/tear down
- Assist Director of Player Development in evaluating & identifying participants eligible to play up to Club league (U8/U9)
- Foster positive & educational environment for all participants (coaches, parents & players)
**Community Skills**
- Assist Director of Player Development in developing, maintaining & delivering Skills training sessions for U8 - U13
- Assist Director of Player Development in evaluating & identifying participants eligible to play up to Club league
- Offer support during programs - attend to absent coaches, minor injuries and team changes for Community League games/practices
**Coach Education**
- Assist Director of Coach Development in providing courses, support & resources for new & returning volunteer coaches
- Assist Director of Coach Development in providing coach sessions
**Tournaments, Evaluations & Special Events**
- Assist Director of Player Development in organizing and evaluating during evaluations for Club and Community
- Assist with preparation as required
- Attend and assist as required
**Hours of Work (15 - 25hr/week in season)**
**Winter on Field Hours **(Grassroots & Community Program: October-February)
▪ Saturday - Sunday: Approximately 7:30am - 1:30pm
▪ Grassroots & Community Skills: Approximately 4-8hrs/mid-week (as required)
▪ Club Technical and Skills training sessions
**Spring on Field Hours **(Grassroots & Community Program: May-June)
▪ Monday - Thursday: Approximately 4:30pm - 7:30pm
▪ Sunday: Approximately 8:00am - 12:00pm
▪ Community Skills: Approximately 5hrs/week (as required)
**Spring off Field Hours **(July)
▪Club Technical and Skills training sessions: Approximately 5hrs/week (as required)
**Qualifications**
- Exceptional communication & customer service skills
- Experience working with children an asset
- Strong time management skills
- Must be able to prioritize & multitask
- Must be a self starter
- Ability to handle conflict
- Soccer knowledge is required
- Must be able to do some light lifting (20lbs)
**Compensation**
Compensation for this position will be commensurate with education and experience.
