Community Links is a non-profit organization that operates within a community development framework; partnering with community and service providers to address community issues. Community Links provides services to all residents in the North Rocky View Region including Airdrie, Beiseker, Crossfield, Irricana, and surrounding areas of North Rocky View. The main office is in Airdrie.

The Community Relations Specialist will promote and align best practices while working collaboratively with partners to coordinate the highest quality of service to community members while building and maintaining positive and effective relationships with businesses, community groups and the public. They will be accountable for community engagement that contributes to the achievement of Community Links mission and goals. Specific accountabilities include overseeing donor marketing strategies, analyzing and defining community needs, participation in community advocacy and management of fund development projects.

**Key Responsibilities**

Leadership
- Support and participate in Agency meetings.
- Act as an advisor to the Executive Director on all aspects of community engagement and marketing activities.
- Work in collaboration with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to plan, organize and implement fund development and communication strategies to support the organization in achieving its current and future goals for long term sustainability.
- Identify, assess, and inform the Executive Director of internal and external issues or processes that affect the organization.
- Support and attend all relevant internal and external meetings for the overall benefit of Community Links.
- Inspire and motivate staff by providing on-going support and exceptional role modeling of Agency
- Policies and Values (Collaboration, Integrity, Respect, Quality, Diversity and Inclusion).
- Practice self-development as well as support others’ growth and development.
- Facilitate creativity and innovation to improve operations, create a culture of learning and new opportunities for the organization.
- Work collaboratively with members of interdisciplinary and management teams.

Program Planning and Management
- Provide input, implement, and manage fund development strategies that relate to the fund development plan to meet programs and services financial goals.
- Raise funds for current needs (programs, services and operating budgets) as well as major gift contributions and endowment funds to secure long range and future funding.
- Be aware of and comply with provincial and federal legislation and regulations related to fund development activities.
- Maintain donor database.
- Prepare analyses of results and recommend improvements for future fund development activities.
- Maintain and submit clear and concise statistical information and other required documentation (contact survey, demographics) that meet donor expectations.
- Demonstrate respect for diversity and inclusiveness in program development and implementation with all staff, departments, and stakeholders.
- Connect community social needs to resources and referrals.
- Participate in program audits, quality assurance, evaluation and outcome measurement, research, and cost effectiveness.
- Prepare and present our services to other organizations, corporations, and foundations to solicit donations.
- Provide progress reports to Executive Director / Board of Directors.
- Ensure files are secured at all times and information acquired during the completion of duties is kept in the strictest of confidence.
- Other duties as assigned.

Community Relations
- Network, communicate and consult with community service delivery agencies in North Rocky View Region, as appropriate.
- Support and coordinate communication between the agency and the media.
- Support and oversee the implementation of branding and messaging.
- Ongoing development of internal and external communication plans.
- Assist in identifying community needs and ways the organization can respond to facilitate positive change in the community.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups, funders/donors and other organizations to positively influence the achievement of goals for the organization.
