Working in the administration department, the People & Culture Team at The Alex supports leadership by developing processes and capacity to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing individuals, thereby supporting the delivery of innovative and accessible health, housing, and social solutions.

**What you will do**:
**Recruitment**
- Work alongside people leaders to identify recruitment needs.
- Assists people leaders with the updating of job descriptions for job posting purposes.
- Posts jobs internally and externally as appropriate, using our ATS, and according to The Alex policy.
- Plan and execute full-cycle recruitment activities such as: preparing, sourcing, screening, selecting, hiring, and onboarding new team members.
- Design prescreens and interview questions in collaboration with business unit partners.
- Coach people leaders on interviewing skills and attend interviews to support as required.
- Prepare job offer letters and compensation analyses for managers to present to successful applicants.
- Manage the reference check, credential gathering, and criminal record check processes for new hires.
- Assists leaders with drafting formal letters to inform unsuccessful applicants of their status (ensuring all ESC and HR legislation is followed).
- Source and coordinate various employment and job grant programs.
- Lead employer branding initiatives.
- Organize and attend job fairs and recruitment events as a representative of The Alex.
- Forecast quarterly and annual hiring needs by the departments.
- Track and report on Talent Acquisition metrics, including but not limited to time to fill, time in process step, cost per hire, and acceptance rate.
- Support in the design and implementation of The Alex recruitment strategy

**Onboarding**
- Leads the design and implementation of the formal onboarding process.
- Organizes new hire employee paperwork and welcome package in collaboration with manager.
- Ensures new hire satisfaction surveys are sent out at the appropriate intervals.
- Tracks and analyses survey results.
- Suggests and leads ongoing process improvements.

**What you bring**:

- Hands-on experience with full-cycle recruiting using various interview techniques and evaluation methods.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of talent acquisition experience - transferrable recruitment experience will be considered
- Experience with health care recruitment is desirable
- A solid understanding of current employment law and Human Rights legislation, with the ability to learn and follow new developments.
- Talent acquisition negotiating skills.
- Self-directed with a demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal record clearance is required.
- Knowledge of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People (UNDRIP) and the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions (TRC) 94 Calls to Action considered an asset.
- Willingness to work within anti-racist and anti-oppressive frameworks and actively engage in ongoing learning about these frameworks.

**Working Environment**:

- Main Alex Building (2840 2nd Ave SE).
- 1.0 FTE (37.5 hours/week).
- Standard hours 8:30 - 4:30, Monday to Friday, some flexibility in schedule available.
- Continuous extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking (sometimes up/down stairwells).
