The Ministry of Health is building a more resilient and sustainable health care system that can support Albertans getting care when and where they need it, while responding to system-wide health challenges, improving health outcomes, and maintaining fiscal responsibility. The ministry supports Albertans’ health and well-being throughout their lives by protecting public health and promoting wellness; coordinating and delivering safe, person-centered, quality health services; planning capital infrastructure; supporting innovative information management and technologies; regulating health care; and funding the health system.

**Role Responsibilities**:

The Public and Rural Health Division is looking for 4 individuals to play a crucial role in supporting its teams.

These positions will be supporting the following Senior Managers:

- Executive Director, Rural Health Branch
- Executive Director, Communicable Disease Control Branch
- Executive Director, Health Protection Branch
- Executive Director, Public Health Standards and Regulations Branch

Through supporting an Executive Director, you will play a crucial role in managing the operational activities of the branch efficiently and effectively. You will liaise with staff in the department at all levels including other executive offices.

Your main responsibilities will include:

- Supporting the effective and efficient operation of the branch, including coordinating information flow, planning, and prioritizing to ensure issues are addressed in a timely manner
- Managing the Executive Director’s schedule
- Reviewing correspondence for accuracy, grammar and proper formatting
- Coordinating approvals
- Filing and records management
- Ordering supplies
- Assisting with budgeting and expenditure tracking
- Setting up administrative processes by using a variety of tools and systems provided by the GoA
- Building strong relationships with the executive team and other administrative staff
- Building and maintaining strong supportive relationships with internal GoA stakeholders and external contacts
- Supporting the Executive Director with general administrative functions such as requests for information technology, using the enterprise resource planning software, staffing request coordination, and other transactional responsibilities
