Sustainable Investing (SI) is focused on enhancing and protecting long-term stakeholder value by considering the impact of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors on investment risk and performance, alongside traditional financial and economic analysis. The implementation of sustainable investment varies by asset class, but our guiding philosophy remains the same: the consideration of ESG factors enables better informed investment decisions and supports long-term stakeholder value.

As the Analyst, Sustainable Investing, you will support AIMCo's Stewardship & Communications team within the SI program, which considers the ESG aspects of AIMCo's investments in alignment with our Principles of Responsible Investment (PRI) signatory commitments, regulatory and international protocols. You will use your written and analytical skills to contribute to advancing stewardship and advocacy activities including engagement with portfolio companies and proxy voting. You will contribute to SI reporting including client and annual PRI reporting. You can expect to analyze and conduct research, track ESG trends, maintain data management platforms, and contribute to a variety of SI initiatives.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct research to support engagement discussions and stewardship activities, including leading engagement initiatives
- Compile detailed reports and presentations capturing sustainable investing activities for clients and external stakeholders
- Contribute to industry consultations and collaborative advocacy initiatives with other institutional investment managers
- Analyze and vote on proxy ballots and shareholder proposals during annual general and special meetings, liaising with internal teams where appropriate
- Ensure proxy voting guidelines are in line with leading sustainability practices and are captured appropriately and accurately within AIMCo’s proxy voting management system
- Create and edit databases and conduct statistical analysis on sustainability data for AIMCo’s stewardship program’s initiatives
- Engage in research to pinpoint, evaluate, and address ESG risks and opportunities and synthesize ESG research into compelling thought leadership pieces
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, economics, or related discipline
- Superior written and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with others
- Initiative, drive, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- High proficiency with Microsoft Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to recognize and define problems and opportunities and generate creative solutions
- Knowledge in data mapping and automation tools is considered an asset
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo’s core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity and collaboration, and inspires the same in others
