Production Planner

Windsor, Canada Greco Aluminum Railings Ltd. Full time

**Position Summary**

The production planner is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the production process. Duties include a specific focus on the materials and goods required from project management through to the end of the installation process.

**Responsibilities**
- Schedule usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levels
- Scheduling of workflow from start to finish (project management - end of installation)
- Evaluate suppliers for quality, timeliness and match according to goals
- Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage
- Identify and resolve problems relating to inventory
- Forecast market challenges based on competitor analysis and industry trends
- Address issues regarding quality and production
- Suggest adjustments to manpower
- Produce reports based on findings and performance of production
- Manage deadlines based on project expectations
- Plan and coordinate production schedules for the fabrication and paint departments
- Perform other duties as needed

**Knowledge & Skills**
- Technical certifications such as an APICS or CPIM certification preferred
- Prior experience as a production planner in the manufacturing industry preferred
- Good understanding of the industry market trends and conditions
- Ability to communicate professionally, verbally and in writing, with team members and customers.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to provide direction and effectively manage a group of employees.
- Ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts with team members and customers in a constructive manner.

**Experience**
- 3+ years of experience in a Production Planner or Production Scheduler role
- Experience creating reports and presentations in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or construction industry software in a professional environment, including project management software

**Education**
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Business Management preferred
