Steinbach, Canada Big Freight Systems Full time

This key position is responsible for leading the human resources function within Big Freight Systems Inc. You will work closely with the company’s leaders in all aspects of the human resources function. This position will spend an approximate amount of time on the following responsibilities as follows:
Benefits Coordination and Administration
- 25%

Workers Compensation Administration and Reporting
- 25%

Government Reporting/Data Gathering - 15%

Recruitment & On-Boarding - 15%

Performance Management/Labor Relations - 10%

Other Duties as Assigned
- 10%

Examples of duties within these centers of responsibility include but are not limited to:

- Direct and coordinate the management and operation of human resource activities for the entire company.
- Support department heads with personnel management, including disciplinary actions in compliance with company policies.
- Develop performance goals, metrics, and targets that are consistent with company goals.
- Administer progressive disciplinary action in accordance with established procedures.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide employees with performance feedback.
- Determine areas of improvement for employees, providing additional training as needed.
- Develop training programs that are based on regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Ensure employees adhere to all health and safety regulations, including company policies.
- Develop strategic performance metrics and targets that are consistent with company goals.
- Ensure employees have clear goals and are aware of expectations.
- Ensure that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Handle employee complaints and incidents, including conflict resolution, accidents, health and safety concerns, work refusals.
- Provide leadership and coaching to managers and employees on key workplace matters such as performance management, difficult conversations, employee relations, and employee development
- Administrative facilitation of Foreign Worker program
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field and at least (2) years of human resources leadership/management experience. An equivalent amount of education and experience can be substituted.
- Advanced knowledge of all Federal employment legislation and labour relations principles.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proven investigative and analysis skills.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Experience in the transportation industry
- Possesses certifications such as: CPHR

**WORK CONDITIONS**:

- Working in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions.
- Attending and conducting presentations.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Overtime as required.
