The incumbent shall lead the technicians in all vehicle product introduction modifications and maintenance in Edmonton.

Ensures all staff receives (or has received) necessary safety and other training for efficient and safe execution. Participates actively in the safety management culture.

Implements works (including modifications, tests, adjustments) in accordance with processes, requirements and local rules.

Shall liaise with designated local Customer representatives and Operations and Maintenance representatives for smooth operation and timely completion in budget of Alstom obligations.

Ensure vehicle equipment and systems are delivered with required safety functionality of delivered (and tested) products.

Ensures observations and incidents are documented and actioned/dispositioned to properly trigger and implement containment actions, problem resolution or closure, as applicable.

Helps identify Customer needs that could be fulfilled as Alstom extra services/products.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure all works is conducted under properly documented authority (e.g.: modification, repair, retrofit instructions, work order, etc )
- Liaise with internal departments within Alstom and co ordinate resources to ensure a timely and accurate completion of LRV’s and other vehicles. (Technicians, Quality, Engineering, Planning, Methods etc)
- Complete testing of work and assist with implementation of modifications as required.
- Leading the customer site vehicle modification and maintenance employees: planning and coordinating their work, resource planning for the customer site, technical and administrative support for the employees
- Coordinating and collaborating with appropriate teams e.g. Project Management, Engineering, Software Engineering, Plannin etc.
- Liaise with designated local site Customer representative on all operations and access matters
- Implements and enforces HSE requirements on site with the support of HSE team representatives
- Ensuring that HSE specifications are maintained; ensuring the security for the teams
- Ensure safety of all site visitors under responsibility of Alstom
- Regular reporting on status, special problems, shortages etc.; regular participation in PI Management meetings
- Ensure all commissioning data is adequately recorded in Alstom designated tool(s) (e.g.: Maximo)
- Other tasks as required

Qualifications:

- Trade qualified with significant experience with electrical/mechanical diagnostic experience. (Red seal, provincial journeyperson).
- College Degree in for Mechanical or Electrical Technician or Technologist or University Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Combinations of relevant qualifications and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of work experience preferably in a rail environment.
- Strong written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with team members
