Your Opportunity:
Make a significant impact on patient-focused health care as a Supervisor in Patient Food Service (PFS). PFS is a provincial program that is committed to providing nutritious, healthy, high quality meal service to patients, staff, visitors and the community. This position will work within a supervisory team to support patient food service at the Walter Mackenzie Centre Campus which includes the University of Alberta Hospital, Mazankowski Heart Institute and Stollery Childrens Hospital in Edmonton. The PFS Supervisor provides direction to front-line workers (Administrative Supports, Food Service Workers and Stores Attendants) and ensures patients receive the meals required to promote good health. You will be integrated as part of a dynamic team that includes other PFS Supervisors, Managers, Dietitians and other health care professionals. Key competencies required for this role include: Ability to foster, build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational goals. Effective communication with strong organizational skills, customer focused orientation and commitment to provide quality service. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in staff. Demonstrated ability to implement change and handle competing priorities with mínimal supervision. Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional verbal and written communications skills. The Supervisor position is an introduction to the operations management stream and could lead to other opportunities within Food Services Management.

**Required Qualifications**:
Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Nutrition and/or Food Service Management. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Food Services management role. Note: A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered. Knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Leadership experience in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Experience in a hospital or long-term care setting. Completion of food sanitation and hygiene certification. Experience supervising in a unionized workforce. Experience leading projects and organizational initiatives. Experience with process improvement and change management methodologies (ie. Prosci, lean six sigma). Experience with: Connect Care, e-People, RMS, CBORD, Microsoft Teams.
