As the Manager of School Community Engagement, you will support the Peel District School Board’s mandate to implement a community engagement framework that reflects anti-racist, anti-oppressive and anti-colonial principles in an effort to eliminate systemic inequities while working alongside and in partnership with multiple communities.

As a Manager of School Community Engagement, you will work with multiple community stakeholders, including members of school administration, parents and caregivers in supporting the implementation of the Ministerial Directives 10 and 14; with a specific focus on sustaining community leadership, and building transformative relationships with parents, families and community using methods that are reflective of the diverse community in the Peel region.

The Manager will provide leadership to multiple stakeholders to build meaningful connections to support students to achieve their full potential. The Manager will support engagement and outreach practices, to develop partnerships that support student achievement and well-being.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Collaborate with the African, Black and Afro-Caribbean Student Success Coordinating Principal, Coordinating Principal of Equity and Coordinating Leader of Indigenous Education to provide leadership and supervision to the Community Engagement Specialists including coaching, motivating, problem-solving challenges and monitoring the impact of the work
- Working with the Superintendent, Principals and Coordinators in the Equity, Indigenous Education, School Engagement and Community Relations Department to support the implementation of Ministerial Directive 10, Peel District School Board's Human Rights Procedure, Peel’s Anti-Racism Policy, Equity and Inclusive Education Policy, PDSB’s Equity Strategy, Black Student Success Strategy, Affirming Muslim Identities and Dismantling Islamophobia Strategy, Affirming Sikh Resource Site and all applicable policies and procedures of the Board.
- Ensuring that the PDSB Human Rights Policy 51 and the United Nations on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples are met by embedding the principles of anti-colonial, anti-racism and anti-oppression into all community engagement processes, policies, programs, guidelines, and practices.
- Upholding the priorities of the Indigenous Education Department in alignment with the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Actions as well as the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples
- Leading the actions outlined in the Black Student Success Strategy: We Rise 2.0 to create an equitable, inclusive, and affirming environment for Black students and staff.
- Working in partnership with various stakeholder groups to address disparities in outcomes for African, Black and Afro-Caribbean students in Peel region.
- Fostering and cultivating relationships between other racialized groups identified in the Ministry Review: South Asian, Middle Eastern and East Asian (MR pg. 3).
- Develop and implement a collaborative communication strategy that will be used with Peel’s diverse communities, to ensure the outcomes of the Equity Action Plan are achieved.
- Lead the implementation of the Community Engagement Policy, the development of relevant operating procedures, and the Community Engagement Framework.
- Coordinating the range of community partnerships, Students and Family Advocate Initiative that serves the system's priorities to address anti-Black racism, anti-Indigenous racism, Islamophobia, homophobia and all other forms of oppression.
- Coordinate and provide leadership for the work of the Community Engagement Specialists designed to enhance family community engagements for historically and currently marginalized families and communities
- Develop a data tracking strategy to report on the activities, successes and needs of the school parent community, based on the work conducted by the School Community Engagement Specialists.
- Using data derived from Directive 9—_Equity Accountability Report Card_ to develop strategic partnerships that support the academic success and social-emotional wellbeing of African, Black and Afro-Caribbean students and other communities historically and currently marginaliz
