Our Environmental Services Group (ESG) provides our clients with expertise in climate change, environmental assessment & management, noise & vibration, social impact management, sustainable development design, and water resources.
Manager, Community Engagement and Social Performance, Ontario and Eastern Canada
Hatch is currently seeking a Manager, Community Engagement and Social Performance, Ontario and Eastern Canada that will be pivotal to the growing Canadian practice.
As the Manager, Community Engagement and Social Performance, Ontario and Eastern Canada, you will be a member of the Canadian leadership team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Overseeing and holding the accountability for the further expansion of Hatch's Community Engagement and Social Performance (CESP) Practice in Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland, and the maritime provinces
- Work with senior leaders to help grow the revenue and profit of our existing CESP consulting practice in collaboration with the Environment and Sustainability (E&S) team
- Focusing on business development activities and identifying new opportunities with clients
- Supporting the training and development of CESP practitioners that hold a direct reporting relationship
- Develop innovative solutions for our clients on engagement for a variety of stakeholders, including but not limited to: Indigenous groups, communities, academia, nongovernmental organizations, government, media
- Project management including spread of hours, quality of work products, and relationship management with the client
- Share your experiences with colleagues and clients at speaking events, networking events, conferences, webinars and through online blog posts
- Support Hatch in meeting their own community engagement commitments (i.e., Indigenous Peoples Policy, Progressive Aboriginal Relations certification)
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in stakeholder engagement, communications, sustainability or local inclusion
- Postsecondary education in communications, conflict management, environmental science, sustainability, or law
- Experience managing a team and proven ability to work collaboratively with national functions
- Strong understanding of the history and culture of Indigenous Peoples, the United Nations Declaration of Indigenous Peoples, and Free Prior and Informed Consent
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement, project execution and client engagement experience
- Creative and approachable with a willingness recommend innovative solutions with clients
- Wellversed permitting and approvals and regulatory requirements in Canada
- Experience working on major projects in a stakeholder engagement capacity
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as work requires
- Effective, open communication and presentation style with the ability to plan and deliver best in class, high quality deliverables
