**What You’ll Do**
The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for leading a continuous improvement culture within our Pre-finished Wood Products (PWP) business. Involved in identifying, analyzing and executing operational improvements in the plant, you will partner with the Leadership and Operations teams to identify, lead, manage, and deliver Lean Improvement projects from conception to completion.
- Improve manufacturing safety, quality, service, cost, and delivery lead times
- Develop lean strategies by translating business goals and objectives into actionable projects
- Support and lead the implementation of new machinery, technology, and processes
- Develop, analyze, and report on key metrics (KPI’s) and data to support problem solving
- Identify improvement opportunities (long and short term)
- Develop implement continuous improvement plans
- Actively grow employee engagement by embracing a culture that encourages teamwork, cooperation and continuous improvement
- Teach Lean / CI tools & methodologies
- Facilitate Kaizen/CI Events
- Share your learnings and Kaizens by visiting other Manufacturing businesses (15% travel possibilities)
- Provide leadership and be a Lean voice on the PWP Leadership Team
**Location and Key Relationships**
Based out of our PWP operation in Surrey, you will report directly to Regional Director, Manufacturing. The role works collaboratively with the Plant Manager, other members of the leadership team in PWP, and the Business Improvement Manager for Manufacturing.
**Responsibilities**

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree, in Engineering or Operations Management preferred
- 3-7 years of leading business transformation
- Demonstrated strong change management skills and experience required
- Formal Lean and Six Sigma training from an "academy" organization preferred
- Personal experience in leading a variety of Kaizen events
- Proven success designing and meeting KPI goals, including reducing supply chain costs, improving through-put, shortening cycle time and improving inventory turns
- Strong written, verbal, analytical and presentation skills
- Experience in working with a high-performing group of managers
- Project management experience preferred

- In adherence to the principle of pay transparency, we are pleased to disclose the base pay for this full-time position at Metrie. The base pay range for this role is set at $75,000.00 to $90,000.00 CAD annually. It is important to note that this position may also qualify for a profit sharing bonus. The specific base pay within the range will be contingent upon an individual's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
