**The Opportunity**:
The City of Red Deer is currently recruiting for an **Electrical Distribution Supervisor**. This management position provides leadership, direction, and continued development of the Design, Materials and Inventory, Asset Management, and GIS sections of the Electric Utility. Responsible for the technical, operational and safety performance of the distribution system, the position demonstrates appropriate stewardship of financial and other departmental resources to achieve the section’s goals and objectives in delivery of effective service to our customers. This position is a key member of the department’s leadership team with ongoing opportunities to represent the department and establish collaborative relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders within the community and other professional and political environments.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration (or related), or a in technical field related to the electric utility.
- Minimum of five years of electric utility related experience preferred.
- Minimum of five years of Supervisory experience with increasing responsibilities.
- Training in managing human resources is preferred.
- Project management training is an asset.
- Combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills to function appropriately with field staff, technical personnel, senior management, external stakeholders, and elected officials.
- Demonstrated commitment to training, mentoring, coaching and team building.
- Collaborative problem solving and issues resolution.
- Excellent analysis, assessment, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of Alberta Electric Utility Codes and Regulations.
- Knowledge of project management practices and principles would be beneficial.
- A valid Class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator’s License with an acceptable driving record.

Exempt

**Remuneration**:
$56.45 to $70.56 per hour ($117,406 to $146,757 annually)

**Hours of Work**:
80 hours biweekly; Monday to Friday, some evening and weekend work may be required when needed.
