**Internship Overview**:
As a Legal Intern at Royal York Property Management, you will embark on a rewarding journey to gain practical experience and insights into the legal aspects of property management. Under the guidance of our experienced legal team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to real-world legal matters and projects while receiving mentorship and support to aid in your professional development.

**Responsibilities**:
Legal Research Assistance: Assisting with legal research tasks related to property law, human rights law, and other relevant areas. This includes analyzing case law, statutes, and regulations to support litigation strategies and contribute to legal analysis.

Supporting Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) Cases: Participating in the preparation of cases for presentation before the Landlord and Tenant Board. You'll have the opportunity to assist with document review, draft basic legal documents, and gain exposure to hearing procedures.

Contributing to Small Claims Court Proceedings: Supporting Small Claims Court litigation by helping with document drafting, attending court sessions as an observer, and gaining insight into the litigation process.

Administrative Support: Assisting the legal team with administrative tasks such as managing correspondence, scheduling appointments, and organizing legal documents. You'll also have the chance to learn about record-keeping and database management.

Engaging with Clients: Participating in client interactions to provide updates on case progress, gather information, and assist with basic case management activities. This includes developing communication skills and understanding client needs.

Assisting with Contract Matters: Supporting the legal team in basic contract drafting, review, and revision tasks. You'll learn about contract law principles and gain practical experience in contract preparation under supervision.

Learning and Development Opportunities: Actively participating in training sessions, legal workshops, and other learning opportunities tailored to interns. You'll have access to mentorship and guidance from experienced legal professionals to support your growth and development. Conduct legal research on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law.

**Qualifications**:

- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited law school.
- Strong academic background with coursework in relevant legal areas.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and precision.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
- Prior internship or work experience in a legal setting is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated commitment to pursuing a career in law.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work the specified hours on-site.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
