**Job Description**:
**Home and Community Care Support Services, Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant (HCCSS HNHB) is currently seeking a full-time Business Intelligene Reporting Analyst**

**PRIMARY PURPOSE**

Responsible for the creation and maintenance of software and solutions under the direction of the Director, Decision Support. Responsible for supporting HCCSS Leadership and staff regarding decision support, business intelligence, data analysis and development of reports and recommendations.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS**

**Reporting**
- Supplies timely and accurate reports/statistics for all levels of staff and/or create ad hoc reports as requested, utilizing the HNHB BI Platform
- Provides first level support to HCCSS HNHB staff and external partners as needed on reporting platforms and related Data systems in use by, or populated by, the organization
- Plays an active role in recommending enhancements to reports and related systems to better meet the organization’s needs. Administer any ongoing development requests by providing detailed requirements analysis and system design specifications
- Identifies, detects and solves related data/reporting problems
- Fully utilizes the IT Help Desk System as required
- Develops necessary materials and deliver training and orientation on related reports
- Ensures change management processes are followed to ensure data/reporting integrity
- Create Dashboards or Meaningful reports in Power BI or similar tools
- Administer the BI Platform e.g. report scheduling, managing folder/report permissions
- Create and troubleshoot SQL Jobs, and SSIS Packages
- Database/Data Cube maintenance and troubleshooting
- Responsible for database migrations and updates
- Responsible for validating, approving and running data related tasks such as changes to IDS and importing and exporting data from and to external stakeholders
- Performs other related duties as assigned

**Other Related Activities**
- Assists with Data Quality/Validation activities to ensure the integrity of HNHB data, regardless of storage location (local, remote IDS)

**Patient Safety**
- Promotes patient safety in alignment with the Vision, Mission, Values and Strategic Directions of the HCCSS HNHB
- Works within the basic principles of patient safety by doing the right thing for the right patient, using the right method at the right time
- Adheres to HCCSS HNHB’s patient safety policies and procedures

**P**OSITION REQUIREMENTS**

**Education**
- 3 year Post Secondary Diploma or Degree in Computer Systems/Science
- MCITP Certification (preferably in Business Intelligence Developer stream) is required or equivalent Information Technology certification deemed acceptable by Management

**Preferred Experience***
- 2 to 3 years’ experience in support of health care patient database solutions is an asset
- 2 to 3 years’ experience creating custom reports using Microsoft Business Intelligence solutions (SQL2008 R2, SQL2016 or the most current version, SSMS, SSDT, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, report version control) and Power BI (or the most current version) are required

**Skills and Abilities**
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
- The ability to work with highly confidential information
- Strong troubleshooting skills and detailed oriented
- Knowledge of Database Structures
- Demonstrated organizational skills and must be able to adapt quickly in a fast paced environment
- Driven to succeed and seek out new opportunities and areas for improvement within the Department and within the Organization
- Patient, competent and displays empathy to the user
- A proven team player
- Valid driver’s license with own reliable transportation

**Physical and Sensory Demands**
- Minimal demands typical of a support position operating within an office environment.

- Minimal exposure to disagreeable conditions typical of an office position exposed to stress and pressure associated with multiple priorities and deadlines.
