CUSTOM HOME DECOR is a design showroom that services the design trade with custom window treatments, bedding, furniture, custom upholstery services, and other home decor accents.

We offer in-home consultation and installation services for window treatments and home decor in partnership with our trade/design partners. We are manufacturers of high-end custom window treatments and also authorized distributors/dealers for several other home decor and lifestyle products.

We are at a pivotal point in the growth of our firm and we are looking for a talented, hard working Design Consultant to join our team

**Position Description**

This position is ideal for an efficient and organized professional who thrives on project work in a fast-paced professional setting. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is a self-starter with a drive for excellence and enjoys working in the decor/design industry. This position involves liaising with designers, project managers, seamstresses, vendors and trades to ensure projects are delivered on time for our high-end clients.

Our office hours are from 9:00 to 5:00 from Monday to Friday (Hours can be arranged with some flexibility).

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Job Site visits including assisting with measures and installation services for window treatments; training will be provided by our existing consultants.
- Prepare Check Measure report to incorporate all the notes from the measure along with the details provided by the Designer and client based on their selections.
- Assist our clients/designers in sourcing material for their project.
- Working with the designers towards project execution, including writing up quotations, pricing, budgeting, order specifications, documentation and implementation.
- Work along side the Directors to plan, organize, and prioritize to complete projects according to timelines.
- Convert all custom projects into work orders for fabrication.
- Inspecting all orders to ensure they meet the specifications as provided by the designer.
- Installation services - guide and work with installers to deliver on the project based on the specifications provided by the designers.
- Communication with vendors and showroom inquiries.
- Assist with social media and marketing tools for projects.
- Maintain sample library and showroom displays.
- Maintain workroom and office supplies.
- Assisting directors with other miscellaneous tasks;
**SKILLS**
- Strong creative and communication skills
- Resourceful and quick learner in a fast-paced environment
- Must be organized and have the ability to multi task
- Must have an interest in and an eye for interior design/decorating
- Able to handle high-pressure situations
- Must be punctual and effective at meeting deadlines
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is a must
- Must be able to lift some weight for moving home decor accents and drapery
- Present a professional work appearance

**VALUE ADD**:

- Pursuing or have completed a diploma/degree in interior design/decorator
- Good exposure to Social Media - Facebook, Instagram etc.
- User of Auto CAD, and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and Windows based software solutions
- Refined and sophisticated design sensibility
- Awareness of market trends and the ability to synthesize trends and contributing factors into creative concepts
- Good hand sketching and rendering skills
- Be able to work well with trades on construction sites
- Creative in various aspects of living spaces, window treatments, built-in and custom furniture

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $17.00-$22.00 per hour
