**About the Organization**
- The Ocean Tracking Network (OTN, /) is a rapidly growing international marine and freshwater monitoring platform that focuses on tracking the movements of aquatic animals in the context of ocean conditions and climate change. Established in 2008, OTN is one of 16 National Research Facilities supported by the Major Science Initiatives (MSI) funding program of the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI).

**Job Summary**
- Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the Program Manager will play a key role in supporting organizational development and ensuring best practices in management and governance are followed. The Program Manager will work closely with the Senior Operations Manager, Finance Manager, and Project Management team to manage OTN’s institutional and research awards, track progress against OTN’s strategic plan, liaise with funding agencies and institutional contacts, and identify and pursue new initiatives to advance OTN’s mandate.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assess program performance and develop and carry out initiatives to meet strategic goals and objectives. Help manage interconnected projects to ensure work is done strategically and efficiently. Identify and execute opportunities for cohesion and collaboration within OTN and with external partners.
- In collaboration with team leads and managers, identify, track, and monitor risks across the organization. Develop and implement strategies to manage risks.
- Support organizational governance activities, including carrying out directives from OTN’s advisory bodies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners across different sectors, including government, industry, Indigenous and Mi’kmaw organizations, and NGO and community-level groups.
- Represent OTN at national and international workshops, meetings, and forums.

**Note**
- National and international travel will be required for this position (typically 2-3 times per year).
Occasional evening and weekend work will be required to meet operational requirements.
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

**Required Qualifications**
- Graduate degree in environmental management, biology, oceanography, or other related field with a minimum of 7 years’ related experience in project management, grant management, marine research projects, and organizational governance.
- A high level of strategic thinking and planning.
- Knowledgeable of the Canadian and international interdisciplinary ocean research and management landscape.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with a variety of partners, including Indigenous and local groups.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, teamwork, and negotiation.
- Financial management experience including budget development, forecasting, reporting and decision-making.
- Demonstrated project management experience throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Expertise building strong and collaborative teams.

**Assets**
- Formal project management training (i.e., PMP designtation).
- Fluency in additional languages, such as French or Spanish.
- Experience working with academics and university administrators.
- Experience working with board governed organizations.
- Experience working with collaborative project management software (i.e., Asana).
