The York Region District School Board (YRDSB) supports a flexible working culture and currently provides the opportunity for employees to work from home in addition to working in the office for some positions. The YRDSB implemented Working From Home Guidelines to facilitate this work option.

In compliance with Board policies and procedures, responsible for system level support of the Enterprise Portal site by liaising with content contributors within all areas of the Board and providing expert consultation on portal maintenance.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:
To provide strategic direction to guide the design, development and ongoing management of the Board’s website, intranet and school sites.

To design training, support and assistance to content contributors with posting content.

To train and provide direction to the Enterprise Application Support (EAS) Team for level 1 support.

To review portal content and metadata and provide guidance and recommendations to contributors.

Work closely with the Service Desk staff and webmaster, act as third tier support to triage incoming support requests.

To assist with preparation of all prescribed quality assurance artifacts including, but not limited to, test plans and test cases.

To assist in the creation of, educate staff on, and help inform publishing standards, procedures and practices for the Board’s portal.

To develop and adhere to the change management process for the web portal.

To provide standard web portal administration roles, such as provisioning sites for end users and assigning security permissions to users and groups.

To configure, customize and personalize solutions and add new features for department and other site owners while ensuring adherence to standards.

To coordinate and monitor corporate content (including Online Tools, Glossary, search optimization etc.).

To decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements to enable development, including writing HTML5, CSS and JavaScript codes.

To work closely with development staff to create and implement new and/or updated responsive websites to meet the needs as identified.

To make recommendations regarding the leveraging of the technologies used by the board to maximize usability and effectiveness of the sites.

To coordinate system upgrades, deployment activities with vendors and stakeholders.

To monitor the portal and ensure high-performance and availability.

To execute reports and provide analytics on the effectiveness of the portal.

To participate in committees and project teams related to the Portal.

To consult with Corporate Communications on web projects, as required.

To participate in the hiring, supervision, and performance appraisal of staff.

To perform other duties as assigned.

**LINE OF RESPONSIBILITY**:
Responsible to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Applications, Information Technology Services, working under the guidance of Corporate Communications.

**EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**:
A three year University degree or College Diploma in Information Studies or related discipline, or equivalent, as approved by the board is required.

Minimum five years’ experience building and maintaining effective portals for communication, knowledge, and learning delivery is required.

Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, website technologies, and search optimization is required.

Excellent verbal, writing, and online content editing skills are required.

Excellent presentation, facilitation and training skills in addition to interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills are required.

Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals and groups within and outside the Board is required.
