**THE ROLE**
- Working within the Boarding Life program, you will contribute to the dynamic nature of school boarding, academic and co-curricular programs. As a collaborative and engaging educator, you will:

- Reside on-campus in shared accommodation with other Boarding Life Student Support Dons while providing pastoral care, programming and supervision to boarding students
- Establish good personal contact with boarding students by being visible and approachable
- Interact with boarders, be available to answer questions, advise students on personal matters, mediate disputes, maintain community standards and deal with issues as they arise
- Develop, organize, implement, and supervise weekend program activities for long distance boarders under the direction of the Director, Boarding Life and in collaboration with the Assistant House Director, Campus Life as well as student leaders
- Develop and supervise programming for long weekends and school term breaks for students who are not able to return home in conjunction with the Director, Boarding Life and in collaboration with the Assistant House Director, Campus Life. This will require supervision during long weekends (Oct, Nov, Feb and April, May) on a rotational basis
- Responsible for a variety of supervisor duties for the boarding students living in residence; this includes but not limited to evening study duties, campus study duty, recreational facility supervision, academic day house supervision
- Work to establish open communication lines and a positive culture in the house under the direction of the Director of Boarding Life and in collaboration with the House Director and Assistant House Director
- Meet with House Faculty team regularly as deemed necessary by the House Director to discuss house issues
- Meet with the Director of Boarding Life regularly to discuss Boarding Life issues and the Boarding Life curriculum
- Be part of a team that may be called upon to accompany students as necessary to the Health Centre or hospital emergency room during student health emergencies
- Work with the House Fac. Team to track student attendance in REACH
- Be involved in the co-curricular program for three consecutive terms (fall, winter and spring)

**WHAT YOU BRING**
- Post-secondary education in Child and Youth Care or related human/social services field and/or related education and experience working with a care team to support students from grades 7-12
- Understanding of Child and Youth mental health, Child and Youth Development and informed practice
- Previous boarding supervision in secondary, camp or post-secondary environment experience an asset
- Technical aptitude
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team along with other school faculty and health care providers
- Appreciation of cultural, socio-economic, racial, religious, sexual-orientation, and gender diversity, and commitment to ongoing professional development in supporting a wide diversity of students in a boarding environment
