An Indigenous Advocacy Representative Organization representing, promoting and advancing the self-governing

institutions and services of the off-reserve Aboriginal/Mi’kmaq of Nova Scotia, “Going Forward To A Better

Future”. To further the objective of improving the social, cultural, educational and employment situation of the

off-reserve Mi’Kmaq/Aboriginal people.

POSITION TITLE: CEEN Engagement Assistant

LOCATION SETTING: 1 term position -NCNS Dartmouth Regional Office

EMPLOYMENT ROLE: Education and Engagement / in partnership with the Clean Energy & Equity Network

(CEEN) with Clean Foundation.

POSITION SCOPE:
Reporting directly to the Clean Energy Engagement Facilitator of the Native Council of Nova Scotia, the CEA

position will undertake various administrative and research functions associated with promoting and educating on

renewable energy and assisting with planning for events or community meetings.

TYPICAL DUTIES:
1. In consultation and collaboration with communities work together with the CEEN Facilitator to develop

workshops on clean energy for communities of the Native Council of Nova Scotia.

2. Support the CEEN working group by reporting back results of these community workshops with the CEEN

Facilitator.

3. Perform all other duties /administrative and other projects as assigned by the CEEN working group and the

Native Council of Nova Scotia.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Post-secondary education considered an asset.
- Interest in working with diverse communities throughout the province, willingness to work in

employment and education initiatives with underrepresented communities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Presentations.
- Team player, willingness to learn, optimistic and possess a wide scale of creativity.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.

POSITION AND TERM:
a) Full time (35 hours/week) term: June 5 ,2023 through September 5, 2023

b) Hours of work will be from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, some nights and weekend work may be

required. Holidays and vacation as per NCNS office policy and procedures.

c) Rate of pay: $17 to $20.60 hour depending on qualifications
