In this role, you will work closely with our Leadership and Community Programs Coordinator and our Outdoor Education team to support the further development of diverse, equitable, and inclusive programming at YMCA Cedar Glen. This position is funded through Ontario Trillium Foundation grant.

**In this role, you will**:

- Assist the Leadership & Community Program Coordinator to create and maintain connections with community partners in the following communities: Indigenous, 2SLGBTQIA+, Newcomers to Canada, and Neuro-divergent
- Work with other team members and existing community partners to review programs to ensure they are as inclusive, equitable, and accessible as possible
- Collaborate with the Indigenous Advisory Circle to review the Wigwam reconciliation program
- Work with community partners and Leadership & Community Programs Coordinator in the planning and construction of onsite projects
- Collaborate with the Outdoor Education team and the Leadership and & Community Programs Coordinator to create and implement training to new and existing staff
- Provide support in other departments when it comes to training and onsite projects (ie. food services, maintenance, farm)
- Participate in program facilitation where needed
- Perform other duties as required

**You bring**:

- Experience working with marginalized communities
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C
- Reliable transportation - Cedar Glen is not accessible by public transit (opportunities for onsite accommodation available)
- Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment responding with sensitivity and personal awareness to the diverse needs of members including visible and non-visible dimensions of diversity
- Must be a Canadian citizen, or permanent resident of Canada, or hold current and valid authorization (i.e., a work permit) under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada) to engage in employment within camping and outdoor education
- Ability to work effectively with others and independently to achieve optimal collective results
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers
- Excellent communication skills
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging
- Ability to provide mentorship and guidance to both inexperienced and seasoned staff
- Ability to deliver feedback in a timely, professional, and constructive manner
- Flexibility regarding assigned working hours, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays required
