OEM Buyer/Purchasing Specialist function is primarily responsible for sourcing, developing and maturing new model and mass production OEM components. This process involves deep analytical review and maintenance of costs associated with material, manufacturing processes and an overall evaluation of Supplier’s capabilities.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- Issuance of drawings and requests for quotations related to new part development, evaluate packaging requirements against specifications
- Support the evaluation of cost and setting maker layout for business
- Communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders throughout development and production stages of new model OEM components
- Creation and maintenance of Cost Control Forms (CCF)
- Creation and issuance of New Model event related purchase orders
- Track and control on-time delivery of New Model event parts
- Perform onsite supplier audits and create deviation reports including corrective action issuance
- Participate in New Model Evaluation meetings, presenting materials and supporting documentation
- Support and evaluate costs relating to mass production design changes
- Collaborate with R&D to ensure a smooth New Model launch, Formulate ideas to submit to R&D on cost reduction of new model products through VA method
- Create Purchasing SAP for each new model project
- Assist sales with developing quotes, Initiate corrective actions for customer concerns
- Maintain and update any files or drawings related to new model
- Ensuring suppliers are adhering to tooling requirements and schedules, ensure event parts are received on time and prepare documentation required to hand off to production control
- Cost Administration activities, Report to management all supply and cost related issues
- Participate in supplier development and improvement activities and control issuance of quarterly supplier scorecard
- Collect and evaluate Supplier Capacity data annually ensuring concerns are counter-measured
- Conduct supply chain risk assessments as required and escalate potential interruptions or concerns
- Update and maintain the approved supplier list, verifying supplier system certification (ISO14000, ISO9000 & IATF16949)
- Support other Astemo Business Units as required
- Support to MRO Buyer role as required
- Other duties as assigned in order to meet business objectives
- Minimum of 2 years experience in purchasing or procurement field
- Experience in inventory control would be an asset
- Ability to read OEM component CAD drawings
- Proficient with MS Office products, specifically Excel and Powerpoint
- Experience using analytic tools and software
- Possess a valid Passport and able to travel internationally
- Experience within automotive or manufacturing sector

**QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION**
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration equivalent discipline
- PMAC or CPIM designations would be an asset
- Quality Auditing experience would be an asset

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Daily activities are centered in an office setting/manufacturing setting and comply with all personal protective equipment requirements
- Ability to work overtime hours as required and shifts outside your structured shift assignment
