About the Role

As Events & Projects Specialist, you are responsible for bringing to life events and projects that engage and connect to our brand and our company purpose. From creative development, planning, right through to execution, you build and take ownerships of workbacks, budgets and runs-of-show that keep everyone in the know and on track. Your communication and organizational skills are exceptional; you know that it takes a village to get this done so you thrive on building and maintaining key relationships. Proactive and adaptable, you're someone who rolls with the punches and brings the right people into the conversation to help get the job done. Someone who aspires to use their strong creative and management skills to help change people’s lives through travel.

**Responsibilities**:
- Understand and become an expert in our industry, our business, our culture and our customer, and use that knowledge to create effective, impactful, strategic and share-worthy work- Work across departments at G Adventures to help create the vision for the event or project at hand, coordinate event/project needs and offer support in planning, and executing on events and projects- Plan and organize events and projects with attention to financial and time constraints- Work across organization with various departments on planning and aligning event logistics- Coordinate and manage all budget planning for specific projects and events- Where required, work with regional operations team to coordinate and plan events outside of Toronto- Manage event registration and on-going communication with event attendees, while coordinating and sharing updates across departments internally- Coordinate between necessary teams and departments on event materials and communications- Work alongside Planeterra, our non-profit partner, to coordinate and understand their fundraising needs- Oversee onsite event execution, managing staff and volunteers

**Requirements**:
- Degree/Diploma in event management, project management, public relations or relevant field is preferred, or equivalent experience- Minimum 3 years of relevant event planning or project management- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills- Proven team-player that can communicate effectively across departments and levels of management- A natural problem-solver proven to be flexible and adaptable to an ever-changing business- Project management skills, experience with ClickUp an asset but not necessary- Service-oriented, comfortable setting and managing expectations across all ‘clients'- Possesses strong organization and leadership skills and demonstrates strong initiative, with an entrepreneurial spirit- Demonstrates the ability to critique and/or discuss the work of others in a constructive manner- Possesses excellent communication and influencing skills, combined with strong oral presentation skills- Is both collaborative and proficient at building positive working relationships with multidisciplinary stakeholders across the business- Able to work strategically and independently within a fast paced and ever-changing environment, while juggling multiple projects and tasks at the same time- Must be able to travel nationally or internationally from time to time- Possesses strong computer/technology skills and is highly proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Keynote
- This is a hybrid office/home based role based out of our Toronto office at 19 Charlotte Street
