They provide restoration services to insurance, commercial and residential clients including; emergency response, water damage mitigation, fire and contents cleaning, mold remediation, complete reconstruction and much more, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They return damaged property to its pre-loss condition quickly and efficiently.

**Position Title: Events & Procurement Specialist**

**Location**:Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)

Office is located near Sherbourne + Adelaide (Toronto, ON)

**Reporting To**: National Manager, Marketing & Communications

**Role Summary**:
Our client is looking for a self-starter and creative individual as our next Events and Procurement Specialist. Are you someone who has high-level of attention to detail, flexible, creative, and a strong ability to meet deadlines while staying within budgets.

You are passionate about delivering results and producing entertaining experiences. You have strong analytical and technical abilities as the role demands fast, but carefully thought-out results. Strong leadership and control of the work process from beginning to end is necessary. A high level of expertise is expected and the ability to spot and correct errors is important. Work must be done right and quickly, while always focusing on accomplishing the goal and demanding the highest quality work from vendors. The broad scope of the job demands a factual, direct and authoritative style of communication. Strong communication skills are critical to success in this role. You are a self-starter with strong interpersonal and project management skills.

You will be responsible for event design and strategy planning, recommend venue selection and destination management, budget management, registration management, program and abstract management, speaker management, event marketing and communications, supplier and logistics coordination, sponsor and exhibitor management, digital and hybrid event management, and in-person event management.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead planner on events, responsible for the overall execution and success of meetings and events.
- Effectively manage the support team on each event, delegating tasks, quality control, providing constructive feedback, and training where needed.
- Build and manage the event budget, from creation, ongoing updates and post event reconciliation
- Proactively identify and be proficient in digital event platforms while solving technical challenges
- Plan and facilitate logistics for events, including development of critical path, site preparation, catering, entertainment, transportation, décor, marketing materials, and onsite event execution (virtual or in-person) with all key deadlines and deliverables.
- Support risk management development and contingency plans, anticipating attendee needs and preparing against potential risks
- Respond to all Member enquiries professionally and promptly
- Research new vendors, technologies, experiences
- Coordinate event marketing initiatives including but not limited to e-blasts, call campaigns, manage conference website updates, registration drives, etc.
- Source suppliers and negotiate for best value
- Completion of other tasks essential to the successful delivery of events according to scope and/or at Managements’ request
- Prospect new Procurement partners
- Maintain high degree of vendor engagement
- Procurement management and support for MarCom department
- Travelling to event location is required

**Experience & Qualifications**:

- 5+ years of Event Management (Live, Virtual & Hybrid Events), Event Travel, Event Technology, Venue Sourcing & Strategic Meetings Management
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, hospitality, or CMP preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite an asset
- Must be a self-starter, able to take initiative, running projects from start through to completion with mínimal oversight
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be highly organized, efficient and detail oriented.
- Must have excellent interpersonal/relationship building skills.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Proficient knowledge of communication platforms such as Alchemer and Hubspot
- Event Management Software
