KDH is seeking a Patient Relations Coordinator to join the team on a permanent part-time basis.

The Patient Relations Coordinator is dedicated to improving the patient and family experience through the review of patient/family complaints, concerns, and other patient/family feedback received at KDH. In addition to adhering to the Patient Relations Process/complaints resolution, this position is responsible for the co-development and implementation of the orgranization’s Patient and Family Engagement Strategy including membership in the Patient and Family Advisory Committee, responding to questions or feedback received from patients/residents and their families in relation to the care and services received at the hospital, tracking and reporting on both complaints and compliments.

In addition to the Hospital’s requirements for commitment to the Mission and Philosophy of Care the following are requirements for this position:
Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (BScN) or Practical Nursing diploma required;
- Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario;
- Additional relevant certification or a combination of education and recent relevant experience in a patient relations/health care environment (minimum 3 years);
- Ability to deal with individuals who may be upset, requiring tact, empathy, confidentiality and good judgment;
- Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to relate well with all levels of staff and physicians;
- Excellent verbal and written English communications skills;
- Strong assessment, decision-making and organizational skills;
- Well-developed conflict management skills (Conflict management training or Alternative Dispute Resolution certificate an asset);
- Computer literacy in a Windows and SharePoint environment utilizing Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook at a high level;
- Demonstrates behaviours consistent with Kemptville District Hospital’s Professionalism in the Workplace Policy;
- Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all;
- Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others;
- Demonstrates behaviours consistent with Kemptville District Hospital’s Mission, Vision and Values;
- Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for staff and clients within a challenging and exciting health care environment.

**Please note**: In order to work in a healthcare facility, _the Public Hospitals Act 1990_, _Regulation 965_ requires all employees to provide proof of up-to-date immunization/vaccines for the following diseases: Tuberculin Skin Testing (TB), Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella (Chicken Pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria (DTap), Influenza (during flu season) and three COVID shots. This proof must be provided to our Occupational Health Office in order to be cleared to work.
