What to expect in the role:_**

**Job overview**
- The Training Development and Evaluation Lead is responsible for developing the framework, content, and materials for training across the organization to ensure volunteers and staff have the skills and knowledge they need to perform their roles effectively. Working closely with stakeholders throughout the organization as well as key partnerships externally, the Training Development and Evaluation Lead will assess training needs, update existing training or develop new training as needed, and produce training materials for facilitated and self-guided training.**Primary Duties**
- This is not an exhaustive list of duties, but meant to give you a sense of what you’ll be doing on a regular basis. Other related duties may be required.- Staff Coaching and Supervision (10%)- Provide coaching, feedback, guidance, and support to team members to enhance their performance and professional growth.
- Meet for one-on-ones at minimum monthly.
- Training Development (30%)- Perform a complete assessment of training needs across the organization.
- Assess existing training, both internal and external, against training needs to determine the scope of work for internal training development.
- Work with managers and senior leaders to prioritize training development.
- Reinstate the training committee to advise on matters relating to best practice, current research, and philosophical underpinnings for training related to service delivery.
- Develop curriculum, content, and materials for identified training that work with the virtual training platform (Thinkific) and for in-person delivery.
- Develop facilitator materials and train-the-trainer supports.
- Develop the training framework for the organization.
- Facilitation (30%)- Facilitate training and act as a backup for the Training Coordinator as needed. At minimum, facilitate quarterly core training.
- Train the Training Coordinator and other key stakeholders on content and delivery for new and revised training.
- Training Evaluation (20%)- Work with the Training Coordinator to implement changes to existing training and roll out new training.
- Establish evaluation criteria and metrics.
- Evaluate training effectiveness, user satisfaction, and other key metrics.
- Report on training effectiveness to senior leadership.
- Documentation and Administration (10%)- Document training analysis, processes, and related information.
- Establish evaluation cadence.

**Hours of work and conditions**
- General working hours are 9am - 5pm, flexibility will be required to facilitate evening and weekend training as needed.This position will require shifts to be completed on-site at Distress Centre with the possibility of some remote work in the future.**_
What you bring to the role:_**

**Qualifications/Experience**
- University degree in adult education, training and development or a related field.
- 2 or more years of related experience; or combination of formal education and experience.
- Experience in curriculum development.
- Experience in facilitating training for adults.
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector is an asset.
- Experience with Thinkific is an asset.

**Skills/Abilities**:

- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Ability to adapt training to a variety of audiences, leveraging different styles, methods, and technologies
- Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence with the ability to engage multiple internal and external stakeholders and maintain good working relationships
- Ability to work independently, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to research, assimilate, organize, analyze, evaluate, and summarize information.
