**Program**: Honouring Indigenous Families

Miskanawah (meaning, ‘many little paths’ in Cree) is an Indigenous-led
organization offering supportive services grounded in cultural traditions and
teachings, and we believe children, youth and families thrive in a culturally
responsive community.

**Position Summary**:
We are seeking a Project lead to join our team in supporting Family Resource
Networks (FRNs) in their collaboration with Indigenous families, communities, and
knowledge, epistemologies, and expertise into service provision and evaluation
processes. This role involves working closely with FRNs to ensure that Indigenous
perspectives are considered in all aspects of planning, execution, and internal
assessment.

The role demands a commitment to the principles of Wahkotiwin:
communication and facilitation skills, a deep understanding of the historical
trauma of Indigenous peoples, and the ability to navigate the complexities of
Indigenous communities with sensitivity and respect

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with FRNs to incorporate Indigenous knowledge,

epistemologies, and expertise into service provision and evaluation.
- Facilitate access to traditional teachings, cultural training, and education

on the historical and contemporary experiences of Indigenous peoples in
Canada.
- Work with identified FRNs to develop strategies for effectively engaging
- Indigenous families and communities.- Provide support and guidance to FRNs in creating inclusive and culturally
- secure environments for Indigenous families.- Assist in the development and implementation of culturally relevant
- programming and resources.- Advocate for the inclusion of Indigenous perspectives in policy
- development and decision-making processes.- Build and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities,
- organizations, and stakeholders.- To ensure that relevant Indigenous issues, policies, and best practices are

embedded within the design and ongoing development.

**Skills and experiences**:

- Strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, histories, and worldviews.
- In-depth knowledge of the challenges faced by Indigenous families in
- accessing services and support.- Knowledge of Indigenous protocols, traditions, and teachings.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to cultural safety and humility.

**Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education in Indigenous studies, social work, or a related field
- is preferred.- Knowledge of and willingness to engage in Indigenous cultural traditions
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- Valid Standard First Aid Certificate with CPR level B
- Current Police Security and Child Intervention Record checks with
- satisfactory results- Suicide and Self-Harm Awareness Training

- Diversity Training
- Harm Reduction and Naloxone Training
- Use of a reliable vehicle with $2,000,000 liability, permission to carry
- passengers and business coverage on the vehicle- Valid driver’s license and a driver’s abstract with mínimal demerits
