Miller has over 50 years’ experience in the waste management sector, and currently operates out of more than 30 locations. We are looking for a highly capable Parts Procurement Specialist to be located out of our Corporate Office, in Markham, Ontario.

**Responsibilities**:
In the position of Parts Procurement Specialist. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Identify potential suppliers, evaluate proposals, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring best value for money.
- Ensure all procurement activities are conducted in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Manage supplier relationships, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services, and addressing any issues that may arise.
- Negotiate terms & conditions, prepare contracts, monitor contractor performance and delivery of services to meet objectives.
- Co-ordinate vendor performance management activities as assigned for new and existing vendors.
- Establish and maintain spare parts inventory and critical parts inventory lists; liaise with all departments to ensure information is updated timely and accurately.
- Create and issue purchase orders and manage change orders with suppliers.
- Monitor market trends, assess supplier capabilities, and identify cost-saving opportunities in the procurement process.
- Working closely with the Purchasing Coordinators at various MWS locations, when required in ordering truck and equipment parts.
- Liaises between various MWS locations and partnered vendor(s) to gain a comprehensive understanding of business requirements, establishing short-term and long-term objectives.
- Other duties and projects as determined by the business

**Requirements**:

- A minimum of 3-years in category management and strategic sourcing or equivalent scope in a similar or related industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (SCMP dedication) is an asset.
- Working knowledge of purchasing fundamentals, MRP, scheduling, and planning
- Strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to secure advantageous deals with suppliers.
- Knowledge of sustainable procurement practices and a commitment to environmental responsibility.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Self-starter who approaches his/her work with a sense of urgency.
