The document technician performs technical tasks related to the acquisition, processing, operation and control of information resources. It applies and collaborates in updating the policies, regulations and procedures in force, and enforces the regulations of the Documentation Centre. It participates in the reception of users, in the various operations of the counter and in the reference service offered by the Documentation Center. It also participates in the various ancillary missions entrusted to the Documentation Centre.

**Schedule**: Full-time - 35 hours per week
**Salary**: from $23.82/hour to $30.82/hour (depending on the salary scale in effect in the collective agreement)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs technical tasks for the processing of documentary collections, including:
**Intellectual processing of documents**:

- Enters data into integrated library management software (PortFolio) for monographs, periodicals and electronic resources;
- Performs cataloguing (RDA), indexing (RVM) and classification (Dewey) of new acquisitions and corresponding descriptive records;
- Performs operations related to the management of documents in the faculty reserve;
- Clocks in periodicals.

**Material processing of documents**:

- Performs tasks related to the preparation of documents in all formats. (Stamping, anti-theft system, marking, barcode affixing, lamination.) ;
- Performs minor repairs to documents;
- Selects and purchases specialized equipment.

Performs duties related to the implementation of the Documentation Centre's policies, including:

- Acquisition of documents;
- Performs various tasks related to the selection and acquisition of all documents (physical media and databases): assessment of relevance and costs, bibliographic checks, choice of supplier, renewals of subscriptions;
- Attends meetings, and produces follow-up documents, regarding the development of paper and electronic collections, with faculty sponsors;
- Manages the budget: checks, collaborates and monitors account statements;
- Obtains required approvals, prepares and verifies purchase requisitions, purchase orders and claims;
- Follows up with suppliers and updates files;
- Ensures that documents are properly received;
- Forwards invoices to the accounting department (accounts payable);
- Enters information into the acquisition management database;
- Pruning;
- Enhancement of collections and services.

Ensures counter service, in particular by performing all tasks related to:

- Reception and orientation;
- Circulation of documents and other equipment;
- To the referral service.

Participates in the identification of the members of the College, in particular by:

- Taking photos for students' cards, teaching staff and administrative staff;
- Printing and distribution of student and employee cards;
- Updating employees' Agora profiles.

Performs duties related to the overall operation of the Documentation Centre, including:

- Purchase of stationery;
- Petty cash management;
- Supervision of internships;
- Reporting malfunctions of the bibliographic management software and monitoring the procedures for resolving malfunctions;
- Participates in the various projects of the Documentation Centre.

**Performs duties related to records management, including**:

- Sending documents during periods of semi-activity and to the final archives;
- Completion of administrative forms and slips associated with the transmission of archives;
- Creation and maintenance of guides, procedures and reference documents for the use of the College's administrative staff;
- Management of the deposit space for transfer forms on the dedicated server;
- Perform all other related tasks.

REQUIRED QUALIFCATIONS
- Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in Documentation Techniques or a diploma whose equivalence is recognized by the competent authority;
- Relevant experience (in education, an asset);
- Excellent command of French and English, both oral and written;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT).
