Our client, in the dairy production industry is seeking a talented and motivated **Production Planner or Inventory Controller **with a background in dairy or brewery production reporting to the Plant Manager. Our client is the leading provider of dairy products such as milk, creamer, cheese in Canada. They offer variety of products when it comes to milk and dairy under national brand names like _Natrel, Sealtest, OKA_ etc. Additionally, our client pride themselves on their business model and the way it helps share the wealth. **Production Planner (Inventory Control): Responsibilities and duties**
The main duties and responsibilities of a production planner or inventory control involves a careful balance of **analyzing sales trends (inclination and declination), monitoring stock levels, and coordinating with procurement and warehouse teams** to optimize inventory turnover and minimize overstock situations.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Leads the production planning and scheduling process for the Don Mills plant.
- Compiles, organizes, and communicates production schedules to enable meeting customer delivery and the efficient execution of production, storage, and shipping in accordance with company's objectives.
- Maintains inventory strategy and parameters for produced and purchased products to stabilize production, material flow and space requirements while meeting customer demands.
- Collaborates with other key stakeholders to prepare a monthly production master plan with the Fresh & Frozen/ S&OP central planning team for a 12-month window.
- Leads weekly production planning meetings with production operations, sales, and central planning teams.
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of the company's planning process with specific reference and accountability to Don Mills
- Governs configuration and master data integrity of the TI systems for the planning and inventory modules of the ERP system.
**Other Requirements**:
- University degree in operations management, Logistics/inventory management or engineering
- 7-10 years’ experience in production planning and inventory management
- Lean knowledge in manufacturing related to level scheduling
