Catholic Social Services is currently recruiting for one (1), full-time, forty (40) hours per week Onboarding Advisor, located in Edmonton, Alberta. This position has a weekly schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:30-5:00 pm Hybrid with one day work from home/week.
You will be joining an established Agency that is guided by faith to care for and bring hope to people in need with humility, compassion and respect. With more than 50 years of service delivery, Catholic Social Services is one of the largest multi-function social services agencies in Canada, with more than 1800 staff, and hundreds of volunteers delivering 130+ programs throughout Central Alberta.

The Agency identifies and responds to community needs by serving individuals through a variety of services and programs and operates throughout central Alberta within the defined area of the Archdiocese of Edmonton. The Agency operates with a combination of public and private funding, and has an annual budget of more than $96 million.
SUMMARY
The Onboarding Advisor is responsible for providing guidance, support, and information to new and existing staff on aspects related to their service with the Ministry. Collaborating with Team Leaders and Managers to support them with the orientation process of staff.
JOB DUTIES
New Staff On-Boarding
- Contact new employees after offer of employment has been accepted and sign up has been completed by HR
- Provide meaningful information regarding the agency values, mission philosophy, programs and ministries
- Schedule staff into mandatory training as well as oversee completion of online training as needed
- Develop orientation plans that includes training, providing supervisors feedback on the progress of orientation, strengths, growth areas and training results of the new employee
- Coordinate with direct supervisor a 6-month on-board plan for new staff
- Follow-up the on-board, plan with the staff and direct supervisor on a monthly basis
- Work with the team leaders and supervisors in supporting orientation and training within the respective programs, connecting with supervisors at the beginning of orientation process
- Analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of current processes and work with CFCS leaders to develop strategies for enhancement
- Other tasks as assigned
Training
- Identify the service training plan for the year
- Keep track of all Ministry staffs’ mandatory training
- Work with Human Resources to get the overdue training reports. Work on the registration for those who are overdue
- Establish the training cycle for CFCS Ministry
- Provide training as needed (Intro to CFCS, Abuse Awareness)
- Ensure our Ministry has enrolled current staff on all mandatory trainings
- Determine which training courses need to be scheduled more frequently
**Education and Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- Diploma/Degree in Business Management or related discipline
**Experience**:
- 1 to 3 years of experience providing coaching
- Experience with onboarding new hires
- Experience with database management
- Non-profit experience would be an asset
- Police Information Check including vulnerable sector search, and Intervention Record Check current within six (6) months
**Skills and Attributes**:
- Extremely detail oriented and organized, with a strong ability to problem solve and remain calm under pressure
- Capable of managing multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
- Strong ability to organize daily tasks and work within defined timelines
- Must be able to work both independently with mínimal supervision and as an integral part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead multiple long and short-term projects simultaneously, meeting all related deadlines, ability to plan prioritize, coordinate and manage workload.
- Effective at working with staff to reach common goals and objectives
- Skilled at establishing and cultivating strong relationships with colleagues, across different levels of the organization
- Maintain and preserve confidentiality with sensitive personnel
