Rotaflow is an established engineering, design, construction, retrofit, and maintenance company that specializes in Fire Protection and Industrial Utilities. We are growing and seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to join our team.
The Safety Advisor will provide support in the maintenance of administrative duties to ensure the health, safety and environment management system is maintained; recommend HSE initiatives, manage training requirements, and assist with the development or revision of safe working practices in line with provincial requirements for company personnel.

Responsibilities & Duties
- Ensures working practices are safe and comply with legislation and client/site requirements.
- Outlines safe operational procedures which identify and consider all the relevant hazards.
- Conducts risk assessments and identifies ways and means to mitigate risks
- Updating MSDS and other Safety Data information to regulatory standards and ensuring it is monitored and kept up to date.
- Understanding the various components of a Safety Program.
- Working knowledge ISNetworld, CanQual, ComplyWorks, Avetta, WorkHub.
- Training teams on new standards, reporting, and information systems.
- Completing incident reports, assisting with HSE investigations and general support of the HSE team as needed.
- Keeps up to date with new legislation and maintains a working knowledge of all OHS related legislation and any developments that may affect the industry in which Rotaflow operates.
- Maintains COR audit program - Conducts internal and external COR audit and ensures action plans are implemented.
- Identifies training needs and assist in scheduling new and expired safety trainings.
- Produces EHS related management reports, articles, and bulletins for employee newsletters.
- Experience working with EHS management software and managing its HSE requirements (trainings, competencies, bulletins, alerts etc.).
- Collects, stores, analyzes, tracks, and reports monthly KPIs (e.g., Incident and/no-loss incident, Hazard IDs, Safety Observations, Audit actions, etc.). Compiles end of year incident summary report.
- Process WCB related claims and injuries including return to work programs.
- Assists Human Resources during the onboarding process by providing support of any HSE components of the employee onboarding.
- Ability to maintain and keep confidential information.

Qualifications
- What do we value?
- Formal education and/or training in Occupational or Environmental Health and Safety, NCSO, or equivalent experience
- Nationally recognized Safety and Health certifications preferred: CRSP, CSP, and CSO considered an asset.
- 1-2 years’ experience in and Health & Safety role
- Auditor certification (Peer Auditor)
- At least two years’ experience with contractor management systems (Avetta, ISNETWorld, Comply Works, CanQual) and managing EHS-related software (Safety Sync)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution skills, and professionalism
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Critical thinker with attention to detail
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with colleagues and management.
- Valid driver’s license and the willingness to travel.
