**About Our Opportunity**:

This is an opportunity to work in a unique office environment in which you will witness firsthand how your technical support to law court staff, ensures consistent and reliable access to justice for the citizens of Nova Scotia.

In this role, you will oversee operation of audio-video systems in conference rooms and courtrooms for the purpose of teleconferencing/videoconferencing for the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.

**Primary Accountabilities**:
Your responsibilities in this role include:

- Maintaining an IT equipment stockroom and an up-to date surplus inventory at the law courts and connectivity for daily operation of the Law Courts.
- Assisting in the planning, development, and implementation of IT initiatives by court services and support the operation of courthouse IT infrastructure
- Coordination and maintenance of ongoing internal IT upgrades, evergreen processes, and equipment destruction according to government and internal judicial policies.
- Providing 1st stage trouble shooting support to court staff hardware (setting up computers, print devices & peripherals, telecom equipment and other equipment), infrastructure
- On a regular basis providing support in liaison with technical specialists regarding specialized recording systems for Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, completing requests for any CD/USB, DVD, digital duplication for clients, preparing analogy, invoicing account payable and delivery to clients.
- Monitoring and maintaining all court services staff printing/reproduction equipment including ongoing maintenance, ordering, distribution, and installation of toner for all printing machines designated to court administration and judicial support staff and follow all evergreen recycling and toner disposal policies for printers used by staff, public and courtrooms.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
This is the right opportunity for you if you have completed a Information Processing Program or Computer Science Program from an accredited institution, plus 4 years technical experience.

In addition, you:

- Have knowledge of LAN resources, digital recording processes/software and the ability to operate and carry out minor repairs to all pertinent equipment.
- Have strong organizational skills that facilitate managing multiple initiatives simultaneously. You must be able to work under pressure with a schedule that is prone to interruptions.
- Can work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team.

**Qualifications and Experience - con't**:

- Are very reliable, punctual, and able to work with mínimal supervision. You understand the importance of always maintaining a professional decorum in a formal courthouse setting while interacting daily with the public and judiciary.
- Have strong interpersonal communication skills and enjoy taking a teaching role in developing and delivering training to staff and law courts users in areas of IT/software/video conferencing and ensuring they understand government IT security, judicial escalation protocols, and best practices.
- You understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality and discretion in this role due to the types/details of information pertaining to the Courts
- Can frequently move around arranging/dismantling recording equipment, lifting heavy boxes (up to 50 lbs), and setting up video display devises.

Experience working in a customer service/IT help desk environment would be considered an asset.

**Equivalency**:
We will assess the above qualifications using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentation, interview(s), and reference checks.
