**About Our Opportunity**:
Under the supervision of the Manager of Planning and Accountability and in collaboration with the Strategy and Business Innovation Division, the Provincial Program Consultant undertakes labour market related research, annual planning and reporting and assists in developing strategies for implementation and ongoing evaluation.

The position will report to the Manager of Planning and Accountability.

**Primary Accountabilities**:
This position will require you to:

- Undertake annual planning and reporting functions related to the Canada-Nova Scotia Labour Market Transfer Agreements (LMTAs)
- Report on key performance indicators
- develop briefing notes and supporting policy planning functions
- analytical, research, statistical, and consultative work related to labour market development.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Bachelor's degree, plus five years related experience or Master’s degree plus three years related experience.
- Exceptional research and analytic skills - both quantitative and qualitative are assets.
- Experience in project management, conducting research and analysis on labour market development issues.
- Excellent time management skills and problem-solving skills are required.
- This position may occasionally require contact with individuals from the general public and/or regional and national organizations. Such interactions will require courtesy, professionalism and confidentiality.
- An understanding of federal/provincial/territorial reporting and data collection processes will be considered assets.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

**Working Conditions**:

- Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day
- May be required to work overtime on occasion
- Some travel, within Nova Scotia, may be required
