**Employment Opportunity - **Provincial Intake Coordinator**

Avalon Sexual Assault Centre is seeking applicants for the position of Provincial Intake Professional as part of the Community-Based Sexualized Violence Trauma Therapy Program (CBSVTT). This provincial program prioritizes community-based therapeutic services and includes delivering services in community spaces.

Reporting to the Provincial Program Manager, the Provincial Intake Coordinator will act as an initial point of contact for the program, providing information and support to individuals seeking Avalon Community Based Sexualized Violence Trauma Therapy services. This position will also coordinate referrals across all heath zones while assisting with data collection and entry.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Coordinate client initial request for services, providing information on the Community-Based Sexualized Violence Trauma Therapy Program phone and or/crisis support, safety-planning, provision of referrals and community resources, referral and or bridging to SANE, while establishing the initial contact and connection in a non-judgmental manner
- Complete client intake for Community Based Sexualized Violence Trauma Therapy
- Provide community navigation, information and internal/external referrals as needed
- Assist in the coordination of community referrals throughout Nova Scotia
- Work closely with other community organizations to provide proper referrals for each region
- Oversee data collection and data entry to Avalon's client statistics database, client waitlist and client booking platform
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**
Education and Experience Requirement
- Bachelor level degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychotherapy, or Psychology or Post-Secondary Education in a related field, or the equivalent skills and knowledge gained from related experience
- Experience serving in a client support, intake and/or a crisis intervention front line role
- Experience within the field of gendered and sexualized violence considered an asset
- Experience working with diverse and marginalized populations is essential
- Strong knowledge of local community organizations and systems to facilitate referrals, collaboration and networking is preferred

Additional Competency Requirements
- Ability to engage and remain present with people who are highly activated in crisis states
- Knowledge of the intersectional dimension of systemic inequalities, including but not limited to racism, colonialism, sexism/misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, classism/poverty, ableism, ageism, etc.
- Demonstrated experience in networking, advocating and collaborating to improve marginalized populations' access to services
- Proven ability to work as part of a collaborative team following relational values and practices
- Able to consult with supervisor in addressing challenging client situations and in monitoring and addressing vicarious trauma

**Working Conditions**
- ** Location**: This position is located with the HRM and may require ability to travel and provide services throughout the district.
- ** Compensation: $**60,000 per annum
