About Us
Governed by an active board of Directors, The Calnash Ag Event Center is a 60,000 + sq. Ft.
Indoor ag eventing facility, featuring a 130’ x 240’ indoor arena, a 110’ x 140’ warmup pen, seating for 600 spectators, fully supported by a 280+ stall stable, outdoor arena and covered livestock handling systems. In operation since 2012, it has developed a solid reputation in the industry with promoters and contestants for a world class facility and experience. Located centrally and supported by a community focused on Western Heritage, bookings in the facility are sought after.

The Opportunity
As the premier agriculturally based eventing facility in Western Canada, the Calnash Ag Event

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Event Operations staff are key members of the Calnash Ag Events team. This role is responsible for the setup, execution, tear down including light janitorial duties associated for all events to achieve event and organizational objectives. The Event Operations team will be responsible for all services and activities involved in the execution of assigned events. The Event Operations Staff will be required to work daytime, evening, weekends, and holidays and at times of untraditional hours of work. The
Event Operations Team must understand priority and urgency when dealing with events.

**Responsibilities**:
Event Setup Duties
- The setup and take down of all Agricultural events on site, which includes setting up steel panels, event equipment setup and light janitorial
- Strong attention to detail on ground condition and maintenance of ground for all equestrian disciplines
- Ability to work around livestock while understanding animal behaviour.
- Opening and closing venues
- Setting up of banquet equipment, food and beverage equipment, etc.
- Ensure completion of event setups in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensuring event day setup requirements are achieved
- Takes a lead role in event conversions ensuring specific needs of the client are achieved in a timely manner
- Provides support and coverage as required to other Managers.
- Highly organized and can work well under pressure.

Equipment Operator
- Equipment Operation duties - skid steer, tractors, grooming equipment, dump truck.
- Safely operate hand tools while always ensuring safety.
- Performing equipment maintenance while completing daily logs.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50-100 pounds periodically.

Mechanical
- Maintaining and repairing fences, machinery, equipment and stalls.
- Assist with watering and feeding animals.
- Minor repairs on machinery and equipment.
- Safe use of hand tools.

Building Maintenance Duties
- Ensure building operations are maintained and cared for while providing high attention to detail.
- Light janitorial duties including maintaining event areas, garbage removal and ensuring event spaces are cared for prior, during and after events.
- Cleaning and organizing workspace reporting irregularities, damage and or loss of property and safety concerns.
- Comfortable working with animals in all conditions.
- Perform all other duties assigned.

Maintenance Duties
- Time sensitive outdoor maintenance such as snow clearing, hand shoveling sidewalks and spreading road salt to ensure safety for clients, guests, and animals.

Risk and Safety
- Adhering to company policy and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s license
- High School Diploma
- Equipment Experience considered an asset
- First Aid
- WHIMIS
- This position requires working alone
- Equine, livestock, show or rodeo experience considered an asset
- Perform all other duties assigned
