**Gasfitter (Jr. Operator / Operator) - 2 positions**

**Locations: 1 (Olds or Innisfail) and 1 (Ponoka)**

**Duration: 10 - 14 months**

Join our dynamic team as a Gasfitter, where you’ll be instrumental in installing, inspecting, adjusting, and servicing various natural gas equipment. This role requires adherence to safety, reliability, and efficiency standards as per company and regulatory codes.

**What You Get to Do**:

- Install, inspect, test, and service natural gas equipment, including meters, piping, and appliances.
- Interpret technical documents to determine requirements for installing and servicing gas equipment.
- Plan and execute installation, inspection, and maintenance projects.
- Install vents, flues, and connect gas-consuming appliances.
- Respond to diverse customer service requests.
- Maintain and operate gas regulating, measuring, and odorization facilities.
- Respond to emergency calls, ensuring safety procedures are followed.
- Investigate gas leaks, odors, and related incidents.
- Operate a variety of equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform tasks such as turning on/off gas supply and relighting appliances.
- Assist with the operation of propane and natural gas equipment.
- Prepare pipes using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Conduct routine surveys to detect gas system issues.
- Perform inspections and data collection tasks.
- Maintain equipment and request repairs or replacements as needed.
- Ensure quality control of service work by other departments and contractors.
- Promote positive working relationships with both external and internal contacts.
- Read meters and report any issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Identify and document instances of gas theft.
- Provide on-the-job and formal technical training as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 diploma or G.E.D.
- Alberta Class A or Class B Gasfitter Ticket
- Familiarity with regulatory codes in the natural gas industry.
- Valid Alberta Class ‘5’ driver’s license.
- Ability to interpret technical plans and specifications.

**Residency Requirements**:Employees must reside within
- The Innisfail, Olds or Ponoka service territory (agency), and
- 30 minutes from their place of residence to the Innisfail, Olds, or Ponoka office
