**The Opportunity**: Reporting to the Manager, Student Success, the Student Success Coach is responsible for student retention with a primary focus on student at risk groups, making referrals to the appropriate academic or service areas, improving student satisfaction and supporting students through to graduation as needed. The incumbent will support at risk referrals and facilitate next steps for students reported based on working knowledge of college services, academic schools and supports available. The Student Success Coach responsibilities will include seeking out barriers to student success, recognize outstanding issues, identify gaps, note early alerts, and document solutions. They will participate in engaging and guiding student leadership groups and play an active role on our College podcast TheRoar. The incumbent will collaborate and support orientation activities and participate in other student special events.

**What you need to be successful**:

- diploma or degree in Human Relations, Community Services or related field
- minimum two years’ experience in a post-secondary or other educational or social services environment
- experience assessing and advising, presenting educational topics, creating, and maintaining databases, writing, delivering training programs and a willingness to engage students with a friendly confidence and positive disposition
- strong ability to communicate effectively - both verbally and written - in a professional manner
- a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
- experience mentoring others
- excellent organizational, record-keeping, data entry skills
- MS Office Suite computer proficiency

This is an appendix D support staff vacancy needed until the end of April 2024, Payband F - $30.00 -$34.77 (starting rate $30.00), 35 hours/week.
