**Position Overview**
The Supply Chain Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing the organization's material supply and inventory levels. This includes efficiently overseeing the ordering, receiving, and maintaining of stock to ensure operational continuity. The role also involves identifying and implementing cost-saving strategies to enhance overall supply chain efficiency. Furthermore, the coordinator assists in negotiating pricing and stock agreements for the procurement of raw materials, driving both cost-effectiveness and value in purchasing decisions.
- Assess inventory levels in collaboration with the sales team and management to forecast demand and ensure sufficient stock availability.
- Partner with the warehouse team to verify inventory levels and accuracy.
- Consult monthly with the finance department to ensure timely payment of supplier invoices and track outstanding orders or backorders.
- Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies while maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Facilitate the generation and review of warehouse receiving reports.
- Create and manage Purchase Orders, ensuring timely follow-up and tracking of deliveries.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate vendor price lists for reference and budgeting.
- Ensure materials are ordered promptly, adhering to turnaround times and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding any raw material issues or concerns, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
- Track and maintain supplier performance metrics for continuous evaluation and improvement.
- Develop and foster strong professional relationships with suppliers to support long-term partnerships.
- Resolve material shortages, backlogs, and potential schedule disruptions to maintain smooth operations.
- Assist in negotiating competitive pricing with suppliers and inbound freight carriers to optimize costs.
- Support the R&D department by sourcing secondary suppliers, requesting samples, and maintaining the New Supplier Matrix.
- Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities, implementing process improvements where applicable.
- Contribute to the development of strategies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve operational inefficiencies.
- Monitor, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational costs to drive performance.
- Collaborate cross-departmentally to meet customer needs and enhance service delivery.
- Conduct regular communication with the Sales and Operations teams to align on goals and inventory status.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance procedures, maintaining exacting standards across all processes.
- Comply with safety regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Continuously assess operational inefficiencies, contributing to the development of strategies and SOPs for process improvement.
