The purpose of the Canadian Medical Operations & Capabilities Lead role is to provide operational support for the systems and technical aspects of Medical Affairs, to assist the business in compliance and audit readiness activities and drive the adoption of innovative medical affairs capabilities.

The Operations & Capabilities Lead will directly report into the VP of Medical Affairs and manage a team of medical operations associates.

This role is determined to be a flexible worker, where on-site presence in the Toronto office is expected to be 4-12 days per month, as determined by your manager and business needs.

**Responsibilities**:
Operational Support for Medical Affairs Processes
- Coordinate training, review, and support the development of relevant job aids for policies related to Medical Affairs and Medical Affairs IT systems, such as Metis (for Scientific Exchange Meetings), Veeva (for documentation/approvals), Benevity (for Independent Meetings)
- Provide support for metrics tracking within Medical Affairs (MSL scorecards, Overall Medical Finances, Thought Leader Engagement Planning and Medical Affairs quarterly scorecards, etc.)

Medical Affairs Compliance Leadership
- Support the implementation of robust processes to ensure that archiving, documenting, approvals and storage is complete and up-to-date and that all current and future medical programs are readily available.
- Support internal and external audits / assessments / self-inspections in collaboration with Medical, Quality and Ethics and Compliance personnel.
- Provide technical support to other medical affairs sub-functions on compliance issues and initiatives.

Medical Affairs Systems Support
- Assist in ensuring that internal Medical Affairs IT tools are up to date and accurate, and actively use available tools to monitor and report on medical activities.
- Create and maintain compliant documentation within Lilly documentation systems, including and not limited to Veeva Salesforce and Vault.
- Support operational aspects of Meetings with Health Care Providers, including international meetings, scientific exchange meetings, advisory boards, and health education programs) documentation.
- Support processing of Medical Grants and Sponsorship requests and documentation.
- Provide operational support for localization of global/IBU materials, where required.

Process Improvement
- Identify local process improvement opportunities and support implementation of Medical Affairs initiatives.
- Support affiliate training and education activities on medical matters.

**Requirements**:

- Team working skills with experience working remotely.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations.
- Demonstrated good IT acumen - ability to work in complex (and evolving) IT systems.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Demonstrated skill with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience in document management and editorial reviews.
- Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

**Additonal information**:
