**Workforce Development Specialist**
- **Position Summary**:_The Workforce Development (WD) Specialist will assist the Director, Workforce Development to develop and deliver program offerings in response to manufacturers’ HR and workforce development needs. The WD Specialist will focus on developing and supporting the HR community in manufacturing, along with other special projects taking place in the Workforce Development team. As part of the broader CME Manitoba team, we provide services and supports to achieve the overall mission of CME, to “help manufacturers grow” in any way we can.
An HR background is particularly helpful in this role, but it should be noted that this position does not perform traditional HR functions per se.
- **Duties and Responsibilities**:_
- Provide support for the execution of the Traditional and Advanced Manufacturing Sector Council Program (TAMSC) and Workforce Development activities under other funded programs with a primary focus on supporting HR professionals;
- With support from the Director, facilitate 2 HR councils which meet quarterly;
- Create and curate a monthly newsletter for HR professionals who work in our industry;
- Manage special projects including but not limited to: industry salary surveys, HR training modules in response to survey results and more;
- Conduct surveys upon request from members, summarize and distribute results;
- Coordinate training sessions for people leaders;
- Collaborate with the Learning and Development Coordinator to respond to industry training needs;
- Familiarize themselves with HR consultants and specialists in order to assist members with HR challenges;
- With support from the Program Administrator, collect information and data via reports to be submitted to key program stakeholders (government, members, director) based on meeting reporting requirements;
- Support the Director in Workforce Development initiatives such as Labor Market Information data collection and analysis, or involvement in other organizations related to Workforce Development;
- Work collaboratively with the team in developing, managing, scheduling and delivering Workforce Development programs;
- Attend & support events as needed to grow & support all CME program participation and membership;
- Identify opportunities for ongoing or new initiatives and submit proposals to the Director;
- Work with the Marketing and Communications team to promote program initiatives, sharing success stories, etc.;
- Organize feedback sessions with those involved with program for future development;
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- 3+ years of experience in an Human Resource Generalist capacity;
- Must be highly organized, with exceptional ability to manage multiple deliverables, deadlines and activity owners;
- Demonstrated commitment to service excellence and anticipation of the needs of others;
- High energy, maturity & ability to lead & serve with a collaborative attitude;
- Ability to create & implement new initiatives with an entrepreneurial spirit & the ability to work independently & as well as with teams;
- Passion for the success & growth of manufacturers within Canada;
- Must be detail oriented, organized & able to manage multiple tasks & timelines concurrently;
- Excellent negotiation skills, strong decision making, judgement & analytical skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills & ability to build relationships with stakeholders;
- Knowledge of or having previously worked within manufacturing would be considered an asset.
**Salary**: $52,000.00-$58,000.00 per year
