RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Cleaning of all areas of the church, including:

- Main Entry
- Fellowship Room
- Hallways and closets
- Sanctuary
- Offices
- Bathrooms
- Kitchen
- Stairwell
- Preschool room
- Upstairs hallway and rooms
- Maintenance duties, including:

- Record-keeping of maintenance schedules for furnaces and other appliances that require regular maintenance, along with scheduling maintenance with contractors based on the maintenance schedules
- Assist with seasonal décor changes in the church and sanctuary
- Organize helpers for fall and spring clean-up
- Contact contractors as required
- Initiate minor repairs when feasible
- Replace lightbulbs, repair chairs, or regulate heat in the building as required
- Respond as immediately as possible when the security alarm is activated at the church
- Investigate furnace issues/no heat in building as soon as possible
- Provide entrance to the church building as needed for user groups
- Seasonal duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

**Education**:

- High School Diploma

**Experience**:

- Experience with maintenance duties a plus
- Willingness to learn, especially with regard to church maintenance duties
- 2 years of consistent employment ideal

REQUIRED SKILLS
- Attention to detail
- Ability to move and stand on feet for the majority of the workday
- Effective oral and written communication
- Ability to communicate with other church employees and members on a regular basis
- Ability to work indoors or outdoors
- Ability to use a ladder and other tools to accomplish work goals
- English language skills

PREFERRED SKILLS
- Prior experience in maintenance and/or cleaning duties, or facility management a plus
- Prior plumbing or appliance repair skills a plus
- Live in close enough proximity to get to the church in the event of an emergency

DESIRED WORK SCHEDULE/COMPENSATION EXPECTATIONS

We are seeking a regular part-time employee to work approximately 20 hours per week. The schedule can be flexible, but we would prefer someone who could work at least some daytime hours. Compensation for this position will be $1700 per month, paid monthly (approximately $21.25/hour).

ABOUT GOOD SHEPHERD CHURCH
