**Position Summary**:
Pacific Community Resources Society, in partnership with the Vancouver Native Housing Society requires an experienced Youth Housing Program Supervisor for our Kwayatsut Supported Housing Program at Broadway Youth Resource Centre located at 2465 Fraser Street. The successful applicant will be part of an integrated youth services team providing support for up to 30 at-risk youth. The building has 96 bachelors and two-bedroom apartments, 30 units for youth aged 16-24 years old and the remaining units are for low-income adults. The Vancouver Native Housing Society manages the building and provides support programming for the adult residents.

This position requires a sound understanding of youth housing programs operations and management, integrative case management, child welfare legislation, residential tenancy regulations, staff leadership and team building, contract management and program evaluation. Currently, this position supervises 2.5fte staff

**Primary Duties**:

- **Provides day to day leadership to housing support staff**:

- Coordinating team meetings, delegating responsibilities and tasks, training program staff to successfully complete delegated tasks.
- Connects with youth in housing program providing 1:1 supports when needed.
- Connects with VNHS staff and leadership to work collaboratively to provide relevant supports and proactively trouble shoot concerns/issues
- Works closely with other housing supervisors to assist or cover other program sites when required

**2)Provides direct supervision of the Kwayatsut housing support team**
- Recruitment, hiring, performance reviews.
- Orientation of new staff, providing training regarding youth work and policy issues, and assisting staff in understanding the roles of the various provincial and federal ministries, other agencies and PCRS.
- Motivates the Kwayatsut team to meet their full potential and delegates as appropriate.

**3)Maintains health and safety standards**
- Provides leadership concerning crisis management, maintains good safety practices and a harm reduction approach.
- Is aware of child protection issues and legislation and understands reporting procedures.
- Promotes a healthy work environment and considers wellness of self and staff as part of the culture of the work site.

**4)Displays competency working with LGBTQ2SI, Indigenous, newcomer and street involved youth**:

- Able to support the needs of these populations and general understanding of the needs of youth at risk of homelessness.

**5)Liaise with funder/community agencies/professionals**:

- Keeps funder or their delegate informed program updates, completes funder reports, when necessary, etc.
- Coordinates meetings with funders and partners
- Represents the program within PCRS as well as to other agencies and at community meetings as directed.
- Maintains effective relationships with other community social services agencies.

**6)Contributes to overall functioning and leadership of Vancouver Youth Services including the BYRC**
- Actively participate in the housing leadership team.
- Provides leadership in developing a collaborative and effective staff team and actively participates in the leadership team for Vancouver Youth Services.
- Communicates effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
- Assists in providing supports in professional development and training.

**Work Conditions**:

**Academic and Job Experience Required**:

- B.A. or a degree in a related field or diploma plus two (2) years related experience
- A combination of education and experience may be considered
- Past supervisory experience
- Demonstrated experience working with at-risk, multi-barriered, homeless youth ages 15-24 and understanding their unique needs.
