About the Role

At Family Services of Greater Vancouver, we’ve been helping people in crisis since 1928. As a non-profit, we help people develop skills and knowledge, empowering our neighbours to create positive change in their lives. Our team is made up of more than 420 staff, including expert counsellors and support workers who provide compassionate, client-centered care to youth experiencing homelessness, families and children impacted by trauma, victims of domestic violence, and other vulnerable people from an evidence-based, trauma-informed lens. Directions Youth Services is a division of Family Services of Greater Vancouver (FSGV), which for more than 90 years has provided a variety of essential resources for children, families and individuals in the Greater Vancouver community. We believe in the resiliency of Vancouver’s youth who are at-risk, homeless, and street-involved. We assist youth under the age of 25 to get counselling for trauma, mental health or substance issues. Our teams strive to create spaces and build connections with youth who are facing challenges of street life, substance use, mental health concerns, and disconnection from their communities. Directions inclusive programs of shelter and drop-in, safe houses, and other unique programs are committed to being a community leader in harm reduction work and fostering low-barrier spaces where all youth are welcome.

This position is responsible for the coordination of the day-to
- day operations of the 10K Supported housing program, the case management of the youth, and the supervision of staff working in our transition program, This position reports to the Manager of Supported Housing and Transitions.

**Salary**: GS11 salary ranges from $56,074 - $62,189 gross per year

What you bring:
**Education, Training, Experience**
- Bachelor degree in social work, youth care or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years experience working with homeless and at risk youth in a one-to-one, advocacy and/or life skills support capacity, plus 2 years experience in program coordination and/or supervision.
- A combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**
- Knowledge of community, social, and health resources that is relevant to youth (specifically MCFD.)
- Personal effectiveness, including integrity and ethical behavior, personal resilience, adaptability/flexibility, commitment to learning
- Personal leadership, including influence, initiative, judgment and decision making, creativity and innovation

**Additional Requirements**
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check
- Current First Aid, CPR
- Non Violent Intervention Training
- Food safe Level 1 an asset
- Proof of Covid-19 vaccination status will be required
- Driver’s license is an asset
