As a member of this campus-wide team, the Alumni Engagement Manager, Students & Young Alumni epitomizes the department’s shared values of respect, empowerment, integrity, appreciation, and forward focus.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Alumni Advancement, the Alumni Engagement Manager (Students and Young Alumni) works closely with the Alumni and Annual Giving Team to develop strategic initiatives that drive fundraising growth. Specifically, their focus is on organizing engaging programs for students and young alumni and managing a list of potential prospects. The manager actively seeks out sponsors and student organizations to support the university's activities, specifically those related to students and young alumni. Their goal is to attract private support for these, and also be responsible for reaching an annual sponsorship target of at least $25,000. While they have a specific portfolio, it's important for them to have an understanding of the university and be able to align alumni interests with its top priorities.

Additionally, the AEM is responsible for developing a fulsome engagement strategy for assigned and unassigned constituencies, which may include events, volunteer opportunities, and communications. The AEM will be responsible for developing an annual plan that includes measurable goals based on statistical analysis of past trends, volunteer succession planning, and post-event reporting of results, as well as making recommendations for future improvements.

To be considered for the role of Advancement Manager, applicants must have:

- Undergraduate degree and four (4) years of experience in a related field like business development, sales, real estate, customer relationship management, financial planning/services, public relations, corporate customer service, volunteer management, or corporate project management
- Experience driving business growth through a variety of methods is highly desired
- A strong interest and proven skill in effectively connecting and communicating with people and building and nurturing relationships;
- A strong record of program management, and the demonstrated ability to conceptualize, analyze, develop and coordinate programs;
- Demonstrate capacity and experience in event coordination and planning
- Proficiency with computers, CRM database software, MS Office (Word, Excel);
- Demonstrated motivation working toward targets/goals and ability to take initiative, think creatively and with an entrepreneurial mindset;
- Superior analytical skills and strategic-thinking ability;
- A high level of diplomacy, tact, judgment and adaptability;
- Experience working in a university environment is considered an asset.
