**Communication Officer**

TNO - The Neighbourhood Organization (TNO) is a well-established community-based social and health service agency providing a wide range of programs and services supporting low-income and newcomer communities across Ontario and sometimes across different provinces through online services and referrals. We are seeking a **Communication Officer **to join our team in a **full-time contract **role. TNO is a great place to work and we make a difference in the communities we serve.

You will succeed in this role if you have a college diploma or degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, Public Relations or other discipline relevant to the position or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience. You have a minimum of three years' full-time work experience (or its equivalent) in communications, community organizing, media relations and/or public affairs.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Communication Officer will develop targeted communications strategies to convey key messages, organization positioning and objectives to address specific communication needs and issues; includes writing, editing, photography and production of these materials. The Communication Officer will assist the CEO to communicate with the funders, partners, media, and staff members to manage meetings and documents, including but not limited to newsletters, pamphlets, bulletins, and handbooks. The Communication Officer will work with all of TNO's Committees to ensure the dissemination of their work to staff members and community stakeholders.

**Screening** - As a condition of employment, the successful applicant must complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening.

**Job Type**: Full-time contract position until March 31, 2024 with the possibility of extension

**Schedule**: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Some evenings and weekends may be required
